About the job
As an integral member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in the technical execution of activities as it relates to Alfa Laval’s Heat Transfer Products in the Energy Division. Activities such as product & application support, offering value added / energy efficient alternatives, and technical support to both field sales and channel salespeople. You will have the opportunity to be a “champion” for the heat transfer products being a liaison between sales and our central colleagues ensuring we have the best product for the markets, communicating market needs, and helping to address gaps in our sales tools. You will be a member of the Sales Engineering Team working with multiple products across different Energy Division markets, contributing to the overall success and growth of our organization.
This is a hybrid position located in Richmond, VA.
As a part of the team, you will:
- Support channel sales and field sales to technically advise on product and application needs for customer demands.
- Provide high technical and commercial support to sales channels (Reps, Distributors, Wholesalers, etc) and respond to quote requests.
- Collaborating with the customer service and operations team to ensure successful execution of customer requirements and orders.
- Participate in OneCRM activities to include all opportunities represented in OneCRM and regular pipeline meetings to review open opportunities.
- Maintain internal systems and tools related to heat exchangers including CAS, Anytime / ALiCE, GDTL, CALEIDO, etc.
- Participate and support Marketing for new product launches.
- Participate in regular training and development for selected sales channels.

What you know:
- Engineering degrees are mandatory.
- 2+ years of industrial sales, technical sales or inside sales experience.
- Able to demonstrate a strong business acumen to understand the opportunity and the proper questions to ask.
- Strong technical competence able to ensure the proper customer solution with a competitive analysis.
- Strong ability to develop the offer utilizing a value-based solution.
- Solution selling background desired.
- Ability to evaluate and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong PC, communication skills, and business acumen.
