Location: The ideal candidate will be located in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Position Summary:

The Sales Engineer (SE) is the technical bridge between our Sales Representatives and their pre-sales customers. The SE owns the primary technical relationship with customers during the sales cycle, helping close deals by proactively managing and delivering technical value in person, online, and over the phone.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, providing in-depth knowledge of Trend Micro’s cybersecurity solutions in dynamic, high-pressure pre-sales environments.

  • Conduct Proof of Concept (PoC) engagements to demonstrate product capabilities and support deployment architecture planning and implementation.

  • Troubleshoot software and network issues in complex, multi-vendor environments.

  • Continuously expand knowledge of Trend Micro’s current and upcoming products and maintain awareness of the broader security landscape.

  • Share knowledge and best practices with the SE team to promote efficiency and consistency across engagements.

  • Deliver technical training sessions to partners, customers, and internal teams when necessary.

  • Contribute to the SE Readiness Program and develop Subject Matter Expertise in assigned technologies and products.

  • Collect and communicate customer feedback and feature requests to Product Management.

  • Support alliance initiatives and collaborate with technology partners and customers to build joint value.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field – or equivalent hands-on experience in Security Software and IT Systems.

  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, networking concepts, system architectures, and threat landscapes.

  • Proven ability to translate business problems into technical solutions and articulate technical value to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience & Technical Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or Professional Services within cybersecurity or infrastructure domains.

  • Fluency in English at an upper-intermediate level (B2) or higher

  • Strong foundational knowledge of network and system architecture, including:

    • Operating Systems: Windows, macOS, and Linux (including system architecture, services, and command-line tools)

    • Networking: IP networking, routing, switching, firewalls, VPN, NAT, Load Balancing, and network segmentation

    • Email Infrastructure: SMTP, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and email security protocols and gateways

    • Virtualization: VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, Xen, and VDI platforms

    • Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI (compute, networking, IAM, storage, and monitoring)

    • Security Technologies: Host-based firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, file integrity monitoring, DLP, encryption, penetration testing tools, web/email gateways, Syslog, and SIEM platforms

    • APIs and Integration: Understanding of RESTful APIs, use of Postman or equivalent tools, and integration of security platforms via API

    • Containers and Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, container security best practices

    • Programming Logic and Scripting: Ability to write and understand scripts using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages for automation and troubleshooting

  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with strong problem-solving and time management skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage customers, manage accounts, and collaborate across teams.

  • Comfortable working independently while actively contributing to team goals and initiatives.

Preferred Certifications (one or more):

  • VCP – VMware Certified Professional

  • CCNA – Cisco Certified Network Associate

  • CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional

  • MCP – Microsoft Certified Professional

  • MCSE – Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert

  • LPIC-1 / LPIC-2 – Linux Professional Institute Certification

  • CompTIA Security+
