Sales Engineer
- Own the full sales cycle, from prospecting and qualification through solution development, proposal, negotiation, and close.
- Identify target customers throughout the territory and develop strategies to build relationships and win new business.
- Partner with Account Managers and other Engineered Solutions Sales professionals to uncover opportunities within existing and prospective customers.
- Meet with customers onsite to understand their operations, evaluate challenges, and identify opportunities involving automation, storage, labor, and productivity.
- Engage with senior and C-suite leaders, including CEOs, COOs, CFOs, and CIOs, to communicate the strategic value, ROI, and operational impact of proposed solutions.
- Work closely with Engineering, Project Management, and vendor partners to develop system concepts, layouts, scopes of work, and detailed proposals.
- Deliver presentations, demonstrations, and executive-level briefings tailored to each customer's operational and financial priorities.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline across warehousing, distribution, e-commerce, manufacturing, and related industries.
- Develop relationships with stakeholders across Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and executive leadership.
- Identify opportunities for storage systems, conveyor, work platforms, pallet-based and tote-based ASRS, robotics, automation, and lifecycle services.
- Stay current on market trends, competitive solutions, and emerging automation technologies.
- Support business development and marketing efforts through lead follow-up, case studies, and customer success stories.
- Minimum of five (5) years of B2B sales experience.
- Strong understanding of warehouse/distribution operations, manufacturing workflows, throughput calculations, storage systems, robotics, and automation technologies.
- Proven ability to take complex or technical concepts and communicate them clearly and strategically to senior leadership.
- Demonstrated success managing long sales cycles and navigating enterprise procurement processes.
- Strong negotiation, objection-handling, and contract-closing skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, sales, project management, and other internal partners.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Must currently reside in the Greater Cincinnati area and be able to effectively cover the assigned territory.
- Ability to travel to customer locations throughout the workday, with overnight travel expected to be less than 25%.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Sales and Marketing, or a related field.
- Five (5) years of material handling systems experience within a dealership, systems integrator, equipment manufacturer, or warehouse/distribution environment, including operations, engineering, or project management experience preferred.
