We are seeking a Sales Engineer III to support business growth by transforming customer needs into tailored, technically sound material-handling solutions. This role is essential in interpreting RFPs, estimating project costs, collaborating on system designs, and developing compelling technical proposals.
ResponsibilitiesThis role begins with developing strong competency in Sales Layout Engineering, with the intention of growing into full Sales Engineering responsibilities. Key duties include:
Technical & Design Responsibilities- Learn and apply the core tools, processes, and deliverables of the Sales Layout Engineering role.
- Use CAD software to develop detailed layouts for material‑handling systems, including conveyors, racking, AS/RS systems, and related technologies.
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, and consulting teams to optimize system layouts and align designs with customer requirements and internal standards.
- Evaluate layout options to improve safety, accessibility, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in conceptual design phases alongside Sales Layout Engineers/Consultants.
- Read, interpret, and analyze RFPs, specifications, requirements, and customer layouts.
- Estimate material and labor costs using project specifications, schedules, historical data, and stakeholder inputs.
- Assess technical conformances, non-conformances, risks, costs, and functional requirements.
- Develop mitigation strategies for identified risks.
- Assist with post-execution cost analyses to refine future estimates.
- Translate customer needs into viable technical solutions and equipment selections.
- Create high-quality technical proposal content, presentations, and supporting documentation.
- Present materials for internal approval in accordance with company guidelines.
- Use product and technical knowledge to support sales pursuits and customer engagement.
- Coordinate with Sales Layout Engineering to refine system designs.
- Provide technical training to customers and communicate feedback for product/service improvement.
- Contribute to new business generation and expansion of existing accounts.
- Maintain a customer-centric approach while upholding company policies and culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to make sound decisions with guidance from peers and leadership.
- Experience working on projects of moderate complexity; may support more advanced initiatives.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong skills with Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio.
- Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment handling multiple projects.
- Ability to work within an international organization across geographic and cultural boundaries.
- Willingness to learn and adopt Sales Engineering tools and processes.

- Experience in warehouse automation or material-handling systems.
- Knowledge of logistics processes and system design.
- Exposure to mechanical and controls technologies.
- Experience with 2D and/or 3D modeling software.
