About the Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Sales Enablement Senior Manager to join our team! This role is responsible for leading the internal Sales Enablement team, as we create a culture of Sales Excellence at Planet. This role and team will drive all training and enablement initiatives for our sales and supporting internal teams, including technical training and sales enablement, through tailored learning and development programs. You will also play a critical role in engaging and supporting the growth of our broader learning and development initiatives at Planet. 

You will manage a small (for now!) team focused on Sales and Technical Enablement for the Commercial organization. Your expertise in hiring the right people and choosing the right tools and enablement strategy are key to us creating a culture of sales excellence and the conditions for high performance at Planet.

This is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to be in our San Francisco HQ 3 days per week.

Impact You'll Own:

  • Oversee a team tasked with delivering technical training and enablement initiatives for our internal Planet team. 
  • Create and update resources such as guides, tutorials, and on-demand courses with the goal of helping sales representatives effectively communicate product value. 
  • Develop and manage engaging educational events, such as webinars, live training sessions, and workshops, to empower the Planet team in using Planet’s data, tools and solutions. 
  • Reinforce the Challenger Sales methodology and our sales tech stack to drive best practices and continuous improvement across the Sales org.
  • Analyze internal team feedback and platform metrics (Planeteer Academy) and external customer feedback and metrics (Planet University, Planet Community) to identify knowledge gaps and areas for improvement. 
  • Assist in designing and maintaining an effective Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure internal team members can easily access and navigate learning resources. 
  • Collaborate with product teams to stay updated on new features and communicate them effectively to customers through educational content.
  • Lead internal Learning and Development (L&D) initiatives with a focus on empowering sales teams through tailored enablement resources and training programs. 
  • Deliver and manage enablement resources via Planeteer Academy, the platform for employee learning and development. 
  • Work closely with sales teams to understand their needs and deliver technical product education that supports sales conversations and strategies. 
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate sales enablement initiatives with broader business goals and align internal learning strategies with company objectives.
  • Lead the development and delivery of training and enablement content programming at our annual sales kick-off (Ignite)
  • Collaborate with and advise core event planning team, including assisting with location, venue and vendor selection as well as onsite execution of event run of show

What You Bring:


  • 4+ years managing teams, budgets and day-to-day operations
  • 6+ years of experience working in a sales enablement role
  • Challenger sales methodology certification (or equivalent)
  • An interest or basic knowledge in remote sensing and/or GIS industry
  • Experience in curriculum development, instructional design and VILT (virtual instructor-led) training
  • Experience developing and delivering sales enablement material to sellers and sales support teams (Professional Services, Pre-Sales, Sales Development Representatives, Customer Success, etc.)
  • Experience working with and training to CRM software, such as Salesforce.com
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and their applications for training and education 
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software tools with minimal instruction 
  • Self-starter who works independently with excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and experience working under tight deadlines

What Makes You Stand Out: 

  • Knowledge of Skilljar LMS
  • Experience in GIS/remote sensing, customer support and/or technical education
  • Experience and familiarity with sales tools (e.g. Gong, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Gainsight, Clari, etc.)
  • Experience planning and running large scale events and budgets
  • Proficiency in additional languages, with priority given to Spanish, Portuguese, German, and French

Compensation:

The US base salary range for this full-time position at the commencement of employment is listed below.  Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives (bonus and equity). The final salary range is determined by job related experience, skills and location.  The range displays our typical hiring range for new hire salaries in US locations only.  Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

$162,600$203,200 USD
