As Akur8 continues to expand its presence, we're looking for a Sales Director with a proven track record in B2B enterprise sales to lead and drive Akur8's commercial growth across Spain, but also Portugal and Mexico.
You'll join the Sales team, reporting directly to our Regional Sales Director, with a team of 2 reporting directly to you. Your mission: accelerate Akur8's revenue growth and market presence in one of Europe's most significant insurance markets.
Your main responsibilities will be to own Akur8's sales strategy for Iberia & Mexico and lead a team of 2 sales professionals, contributing to our success by:
Building and executing a comprehensive commercial strategy to meet and exceed annual revenue targets
Developing strong, lasting relationships with key decision-makers at P&C insurance carriers (CFO, CTO, Chief Actuary, Heads of Pricing)
Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of 2 sales professionals
Collaborating cross-functionally with Marketing, Customer Success, Actuarial Science, and Product teams
Representing Akur8 at key industry events and conferences across Iberia & Mexico
Contributing market intelligence and best practices to the global GTM strategy
As a Sales Director, your typical set of missions include:
Developing and executing a sales strategy to meet and exceed annual revenue targets
Managing and growing a qualified pipeline of insurance prospects, ensuring accurate forecasting and CRM hygiene (e.g., Salesforce)
Leading the full sales cycle, from prospecting through demos, negotiation, and closing — across complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals
Coaching and developing a team of 2, driving their performance and career growth
Partnering with Marketing on demand generation and brand awareness initiatives in Iberia & Mexico
Working closely with Customer Success to ensure seamless client onboarding and long-term satisfaction
Reporting on sales performance, market trends, and competitive intelligence to senior leadership
You will be based out of our office in Madrid, but travelling frequently for business development events or client meetings.
We're looking for motivated individuals with several years of experience in sales and a strong interest in technology, eager to grow their skills in SaaS solutions. Ideal candidates have a passion for challenges, new market ventures, fast moving organizations and out of the box thinking.
We're looking for a strategic mindset and strong leadership capabilities, and:
EDUCATIONAL / PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
10+ years of professional experience in B2B enterprise sales, with at least 3-5 years in a senior or director-level role
Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
Demonstrated experience managing and developing a sales team is a plus
A background in SaaS, InsurTech, or the insurance industry is a strong advantage
HARD SKILLS
You have experience owning the full enterprise sales cycle, from prospecting to closing, in a B2B environment
You are skilled at engaging with C-level executives, Chief Actuaries, or senior IT decision-makers
Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets in complex, consultative sales environments
You are familiar with sales protocols and SaaS company processes, use of CRMs, Slack communication, multi-teams interactions.
SOFT SKILLS
You are empathetic, humble and trustworthy
You have a capacity for detailed analysis and for converging to detailed and actionable plans
You are flexible and adaptable. You are comfortable dealing with multiple and constantly new topics
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English.
Comfortable working in a multicultural and international environment.
BONUS SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
An established network within the Spanish insurance market is a significant asset
Familiarity with insurance pricing, actuarial science, or risk modeling is a plus
