The Sales Development Specialist is a cross-functional role intended to build the skills and experience needed for consideration for future Regional Sales Manager opportunities within Daimler Coaches North America (DCNA), subject to performance and business needs. The position provides hands-on experience across key Sales & Marketing functions, including Sales Operations, Sales Administration, Product Management, Marketing, Vehicle Delivery, Customer Support & Interactions, and Regional Sales activities.
The successful candidate will develop a comprehensive understanding of the coach market and sales process from initial customer inquiry through vehicle delivery and handover while contributing to day-to-day business execution across multiple teams. The role builds technical product knowledge, customer relationship skills, sales process expertise, and commercial acumen aligned with future field sales leadership responsibilities. Assignments and areas of focus may evolve based on development needs, demonstrated capability, and business priorities. The expected development timeframe is approximately 3 to 5 years.

Position offers a starting salary range of $65,000.00 - $83,000.00 USD  

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience​

  • Participate in a development role to build readiness for future consideration for Regional Sales Manager positions, subject to performance and business needs.
  • Support Sales Operations/Sales Administration with vehicle specifications, quotations and sales offers, order administration, production/order tracking, CRM updates, reporting, and sales documentation/compliance activities.
  • Build a comprehensive understanding of the coach sales process from customer inquiry through delivery and handover.
  • Assist with vehicle delivery preparation and customer handovers, including delivery paperwork, documentation accuracy/completeness, and demo vehicle tracking, movements, and check-in/check-out coordination.

  • Support Marketing and Product Management initiatives, including customer events and trade shows, product launches, market/competitive research, sales materials, and capturing customer feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records and files in company systems and support continuous improvement of sales and administrative processes.
  • Develop and maintain technical product knowledge, staying current on product updates, industry trends, and competitive offerings.
  • Support cross-functional projects and emerging business priorities across Sales, Sales Operations, Marketing, Product Management, and Customer Support as organizational needs arise.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelors degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience, or 4-6 years in lieu of degree, is required
  • Strong interest in sales, customer relations, commercial vehicles, and business development.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accountability.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office) and willingness to learn CRM and ERP systems.
  • Professional demeanor with a customer-focused approach.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, honesty, and accountability.
  • Willingness to travel as required for customer visits, trade shows, product training, vehicle deliveries/handovers, demo moves, and sales events.
  • Valid driver's license and legal eligibility to obtain and maintain a CDL within a specified period of employment (company-sponsored CDL training provided).

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Management, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience).
