Job Summary
This position has responsibility for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, acting as the first point of contact for potential clients in the US and Canada. This role is a proactive problem-solver with a passion for understanding a customer's business and the ability to recommend high-value solutions from our extensive portfolio of gas, welding, and safety offers.
Key responsibilities
Proactively identify potential customers following up on marketing-generated leads from various channels including but not limited to email campaigns, social media (LinkedIn), and outbound prospecting building a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities for the region's account managers.
Qualify inbound and outbound leads by assessing their needs, budget, timeline, and decision-making authority
Identify Government Tenders actively searching for relevant tenders on official government portals.Review the Tender: read the solicitation documents, identify those using products sold by Airgas. Provide a summary of the tender to the regional managementment team. Work with the team to ensure the bid is submitted on time.
Conduct research on target accounts and key contacts to understand their operational challenges and safety requirements.
Identify key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders within prospect organizations.
Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and market shifts to tailor outreach and conversations effectively.
Act as a trusted initial consultant, using active listening to diagnose customer pain points.
Clearly articulate the company's value proposition, matching our products, services, and safety programs to the specific needs of the prospect.
Recommend appropriate solutions, including gas and equipment, vendor-managed inventory (VMI) for safety supplies, or comprehensive training programs.
Track all activities, communications, and prospect data in Salesforce, ensuring a clean and accurate pipeline.
Collaborate closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure a smooth handoff of qualified leads and to provide feedback on lead quality.

College degree in Business, Communications, or Engineering AND 1+ years of experience in the B2B environment as an inside sales, business development, or industrial safety specialist for manufacturing, construction, or other industrial firms;
OR 3 to 5 years of sales experience into manufacturing, construction, or other industrial firms (technical school certifications a plus).
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and confident phone presence. The individual must be fluent in both French and English.
Bilingualism (English and French) is required to effectively conduct business development across all regions of Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using Salesforce and Google Suite a plus.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and resilient with a strong work ethic and the ability to handle rejection.
A curious and analytical mindset, with a genuine interest in understanding customer challenges.
Experience in the industrial gas, welding, or workplace safety (PPE) industry is a significant advantage.
A basic understanding of welding processes, gas applications, or industrial safety regulations a plus.
