The Winfield Sales Agronomist Lead is responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a team of Sales Agronomist to drive agronomic strategy, product adoption, and revenue growth across the Business Unit. This role partners closely with BU leadership to align agronomy execution with business priorities while building a high-performing, collaborative team. The Agronomy Lead role will lead a team of Seed Sales Agronomists, Crop Protection Sales Agronomist , and Market Development Agronomists for the Central and East Business Units which includes Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. The role is remote/virtual and will work from a home office.

Lead, coach, and develop a team of Sales Agronomist to maximize performance and engagement
Build a strong talent pipeline; identify and develop future leaders
Drive consistency in execution, prioritization, and communication across the team
Foster collaboration across MDA, CPSA, SSA, and broader sales teams

Agronomic Strategy & BU Alignment
Partner with BU leadership to develop and execute agronomic strategies
Align Sales Agronomy activities to business priorities, including product focus and growth initiatives
Translate national strategy and data into localized execution plans
Increase focus on key growth areas including CPP and seed portfolio expansion Drive adoption of key products, services, and innovation platforms
Support execution of account plans to grow revenue and margin
Influence retailer agronomy teams and key customers to expand market share
Strengthen local selling stories using agronomic data and insights

Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with:
Strategic Marketing and Research and development for pipeline and training alignment
East and Central Bu Leadership
Services teams for program adoption and technical support.
Act as the bridge between strategy and field execution
Required Experience/Knowledge/Skills (to be able to perform this job):
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or business-related field with 5+ years of industry experience.
Experience coaching, training and executing technical agronomic decisions, and developing and educating others on agronomy products.
Understanding of seed crop growth and development and physiology for core crops relevant to geography as well as environmental & agronomic factors that influence crop productivity.
Ability to create working relationships internally and externally while leading through influence at all levels in an organization.
Ability to make sound and timely decisions.
Experience demonstrating agility and leading/adapting quickly to change.
Must have current and valid state driver’s license.
Ability to travel up to 50%, some evenings and weekends; may require working long hours during peak seasons.
Prefer candidate to live in the Central or Eastern US but not required
This is a role that is compensated with a target mix of base salary plus commission. Base salary is dependent upon experience/tenure and generally ranges between: $123,920-$185,880
Target bonus is: fifty thousand dollars
In most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of our salary ranges.
