Job Summary & Responsibilities

UniTek Global Services is seeking a dedicated Safety Specialist to support and promote a safe working environment across all divisions. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with company, state, and federal safety standards while helping build a proactive, safety-focused culture.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, incident reports, training and certification records to ensure compliance with all safety‑related regulations.
  • Provide guidance to employees on preventing and reducing safety incidents.
  • Deliver ongoing safety training to reinforce safe work practices and promote a strong safety mindset across the organization.
  • Conduct regular onsite safety audits for both in‑house employees and subcontractors.
  • Participate in OSHA and other safety certification courses as assigned.
  • Support various safety initiatives and perform additional duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree in Safety Management or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety & health preferred.
  • At least 2 years of telecommunications experience and 2 years of safety‑related experience preferred.

 Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of safety practices and equipment in the communications industry.
  • Solid understanding of federal and state DOT requirements.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with field personnel and vendors.

Technical Competencies

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulatory standards and risk management principles.
  • Experience in safety engineering or environmental protection is a plus.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
  • Ability to solve complex issues accurately and efficiently.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000
