About the Role

We have an opportunity for you to join us as a Safety Specialist at our large manufacturing site in Neenah, Wisconsin.

What You Will Do
As a Safety Specialist, you will be supported by our friendly and professional team to gain a thorough insight in to how the site operates. All operations from understanding the site organization and management structure, through understanding the manufacturing processes we use.
You will report to the site Health and Safety Manager and be a go-to person for all colleagues regarding Health & Safety topics. Being naturally self-autonomous, you will be able to plan, support the arrangement, and deliver Health & Safety training on site. You will contribute to the generation of monthly reports to measure related metrics against key performance indicators; this is also while promoting an active leadership in Health & Safety across the site. You will support managers with the knowledge, understanding, and compliance of all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations relating to our job duties (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
Who You Are
First and foremost, you will need a passion to actively improve and monitor safety practices. Along with that, should be your natural ability to take responsibility and show initiative all while being approachable. Your application for this role should illustrate experience and knowledge of Health and Safety topics, requirements, and compliance initiatives. We would like to see a demonstrated impact on the business created by your involvement in Health and Safety-based projects and day-to-day activities.
- Ability to confidently and clearly communicate both verbally and written with people at all levels within the organization;
- Ability to prioritize and adapt to change;
- Ability to professionally and constructively challenge others;
- Ability to work under pressure while ensuring deadlines are met and outcomes are monitored;
- Problem solving abilities with a logical and methodical approach;
- Strong IT literacy with knowledge of MS Office products as well as web-based H&S applications;
- Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety, similar degree, and/or equivalent work experience;
- Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis;
- Experience and knowledge of behavioral based systems;
- Working knowledge of project and change management;
- Comfort and experience in emergency response planning;
- Fundamental knowledge/experience level in IQP;
- Certification in NFPA.

Skills Required
- Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety, a similar degree, or equivalent work experience
- Health and safety knowledge, including safety topics, requirements, and compliance initiatives
- Incident investigation and root cause analysis experience
- Experience and knowledge of behavioral-based safety systems
- Working knowledge of project and change management
- Experience with emergency response planning
- Fundamental knowledge or experience in IQP
- NFPA certification
- Strong IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and web-based health and safety applications
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize, adapt to change, solve problems, challenge constructively, and meet deadlines
