We are looking for a proactive and experienced HR Safety Specialist to join our team and champion our health and safety programs. In this role, you will be a key player in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment, where employees are protected from accidents and injuries. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a variety of programs and activities that foster a strong culture of safety and well-being. The ideal candidate will have a strong
understanding of health and safety regulations and a proven ability to lead and collaborate with all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement health and safety initiatives to foster a safe and productive work environment.
  • Conduct risk assessments and regular inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for all employees.
  • Investigate all incidents and accidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation.
  • Partner with managers and department heads to promote safety within their teams.
  • Communicate effectively about safety initiatives through various channels.
  • Foster a culture of safety and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Track key metrics (e.g., incident rates, near-miss reports) to evaluate the effectiveness of safety initiatives, analyze data, and develop improvement strategies.
  • Research and benchmark best practices in workplace safety to continuously improve our programs.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm - 100% in office
Competitive compensation package will be discussed during the interview process.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in Human Resources with a focus on safety.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Proven ability to design and implement successful safety programs.
  • Strong knowledge of various employment laws and safety regulations, including OSHA.
  • Strong project management and planning skills.
  • Ability to collect and interpret data to demonstrate the effectiveness of safety programs.
  • Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resources and medical information.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
