What You'll Do

Every day is different, but here's what you can expect:

  • Welcome visitors, clients, and community partners while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Issue visitor badges and maintain accurate visitor logs.
  • Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls.
  • Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Help answer questions and resolve concerns, knowing when to solve the issue yourself and when to ask for additional support.
  • Keep track of youth activities and whereabouts while helping maintain a safe, positive environment.
  • Support youth at the front entrance by following trauma-informed practices and assisting with check-in procedures.
  • Follow security and screening procedures for everyone entering the building.
  • Manage keys, radios, and badge inventory while reporting any concerns.
  • Respond appropriately to security incidents and complete incident reports when necessary.
  • Step in to support the team as an Adult Care Specialist when needed.

Work Environment

This is an essential, on-site position in a residential youth services setting that may include shelters, group homes, or detention facilities serving youth from birth through age 24.

This role is rewarding, meaningful, and sometimes challenging. You'll work in an environment that may involve:

  • High-energy and emotionally demanding situations
  • Loud noises and stressful circumstances
  • Exposure to bloodborne or airborne pathogens
  • Verbal or physical aggression
  • Restricted movement outside the facility as required by program operations

Our team works together to maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for everyone.

Physical Requirements

This is an active role! You'll spend much of your day:

  • Standing and walking
  • Bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and moving throughout the facility
  • Communicating with youth, families, and staff
  • Occasionally lifting or moving items weighing more than 50 pounds
Schedule

Part-Time - 2nd Shift - Saturday and Sunday

Our programs operate around the clock to support youth and families.

Schedules may include:

  • Days, evenings, overnights
  • Weekends
  • Holidays

Flexibility is appreciated as we work together to meet the needs of those we serve.

QualificationsEducation & ExperienceRequired
  • High School Diploma or GED
Preferred
  • One year of experience working with youth
  • Coursework or experience in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field
Additional Qualifications
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain)

Skills Required
