The Safety Officer is responsible for implementing HSE plans, conducting inspections, controlling hazards, training personnel, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations in the oil & gas industry.

- Monitor Contractor and their personnel for compliance to their HSE Plan as well as site HSE Plans/Requirements.
- Lead/Be part of incident investigations and capable of identification of root causes, contributing causes and suggestion of control measures. Coordinate with customer incident management systems and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific Emergency Response Plans Organize and conduct emergency drills (fire, evacuation, spill response, medical emergencies) Serve as Emergency Coordinator or support emergency response activities. Ensure emergency equipment is properly maintained, inspected, and personnel are trained. Liaise with customer emergency response teams and local emergency services. Manage hazardous materials emergency response procedures and spill containment.
- Monitor environmental compliance including waste management, emissions, and discharges. Coordinate proper disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste in compliance with regulations. Support ABB's Sustainability Agenda and environmental performance objectives. Manage chemical inventories and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Support PMs /Service Delivery Manager /Lead Engineers s in preparation of Lessons learnt on topics related to HSE.
- To review with Service Manager for all the services call completed in the month, ensure all HSE procedures ( Site Preparation, ST5 , ABRA, JHA) are followed.
Requirements
- Engineering/Diploma basic qualification and familiarity with automation industry.
- At least 3-5 years’ experience in supporting Health and safety and Environment management in oil & gas industry in areas of automation/automation projects.
- Nebosh IGC certification.
- Lead Auditor (in ISO 14001, 45001) certification is preferred.
- Candidate to have a basic awareness on Electrical Safety.
- Have 5+ years of experience working in Oil and Gas sector.
- Computer literate and well conversant with MS office tools. (Power points, Excel, Word, etc).
- Fluent in English (speak and write); Ability to communicate in the language of workers (Hindi, Tamil etc) would be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with HSE requirements from various customers would be an added advantage.
- Any approvals from Oil and Gas customers Locally (QatarEnergy, QatarEnergy Lng, Shell, North Oil, Dolphin etc) will be an added advantage.
- Competent to complete HSE trainings for Offshore and onshore locations and mobilise to site on request.
- Ability to work in Oil and Gas plants both onshore and offshore during normal plant operations and shutdowns.

Skills Required
