About the Role:We are seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Engineer to join our Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team on a prestigious airport development project in Jeddah, KSA. The Safety Engineer will be responsible for ensuring health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance across all construction activities and phases of the airport infrastructure works.
The role requires strong technical knowledge of HSE regulations, particularly within aviation or large-scale infrastructure projects, and a commitment to fostering a safe working environment for all stakeholders on-site.
Key Responsibilities:Support the implementation and monitoring of the project HSE Management Plan and relevant safety policies.
Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across all project areas, identifying unsafe practices and recommending corrective actions.
Review and monitor contractor safety procedures, including method statements, risk assessments, toolbox talks, and emergency response plans.
Monitor daily construction activities to ensure compliance with approved safety standards and local regulatory requirements.
Prepare and maintain safety reports, incident logs, near-miss reports, and other HSE documentation as required.
Participate in and support incident investigations and root cause analyses, ensuring effective preventive measures are implemented.
Coordinate and communicate with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on HSE expectations and performance targets.
Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.
Assist in the delivery of HSE training, induction sessions, and workshops for site personnel and project teams.
Support the HSE Manager and Project Management Team in fulfilling all safety-related contractual and legal obligations.
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
NEBOSH IGC Certification or equivalent is mandatory.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in HSE, with at least 5 years on major airport or infrastructure construction projects in a PMC or consulting role.
Solid understanding of Saudi Arabian safety regulations, international standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001), and local authority guidelines (GACA, etc.).
Previous work experience in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East is an advantage.
