We are seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to join our team and help maintain a safe, compliant, and productive work environment. 

 

Position Summary 

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for the planning, implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of Elite Spice's safety programs. This position serves as the primary resource for employee safety, regulatory compliance, workers' compensation administration, and safety-related training initiatives. The Safety Coordinator will also support food safety initiatives and ensure compliance with applicable GMP, food safety, and regulatory requirements. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Plan, develop, implement, and coordinate company-wide safety programs and initiatives. 

  • Schedule, track, and maintain records of all required employee safety training. 

  • Develop, evaluate, and facilitate training related to Food Safety, GMPs, SOPs, and workplace safety. 

  • Support departmental training and employee education efforts. 

  • Advise management on safety policies and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. 

  • Design and implement policies, procedures, and programs that promote workplace safety and organizational compliance. 

  • Investigate workplace accidents and incidents and prepare reports for insurance carriers and management. 

  • Coordinate workers' compensation claims, injury management, and return-to-work programs. 

  • Represent the organization during personnel-related investigations, hearings, and regulatory reviews as needed. 

  • Research and stay current on OSHA, Department of Labor, and other applicable safety and labor regulations. 

  • Analyze training needs and develop employee awareness, health, and safety programs. 

  • Serve as the primary liaison with public safety agencies and maintain awareness of applicable safety and health regulations. 

  • Maintain relationships with external organizations to facilitate information sharing and mutual assistance. 

  • Lead and support special projects as assigned. 

 

Food Safety Responsibilities 

The Safety Coordinator plays an important role in supporting food safety initiatives by: 

  • Enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). 

  • Promoting and maintaining a sanitary work environment. 

  • Supporting compliance with food quality and food safety standards. 

  • Ensuring products are manufactured in accordance with applicable specifications, regulations, and customer requirements. 

Qualifications

Education and Experience 

  • Previous experience as a Safety Coordinator, Safety Specialist, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) professional, or in a similar role required. 

  • Experience within a manufacturing, food production, or industrial environment preferred. 

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety best practices. 

  • Experience managing workers' compensation and return-to-work programs preferred. 

 

Skills and Competencies 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities. 

  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills. 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. 

  • Ability to effectively train and educate employees at all organizational levels.
