Your Mission

This role sits at the intersection of Finance, Operations, IT and Compliance and plays a key role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy and monitoring of financial flows across our issuing, acquiring and payment account activities.

The position combines hands-on operational responsibilities with process ownership in a growing environment, while contributing to the strengthening of Paynovate’s safeguarding framework in line with regulatory expectations. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with hands-on experience in payments operations, reconciliations and regulated financial environments

Key ResponsibilitiesReconciliation & Controls
  • Perform, own and oversee daily reconciliations between internal ledgers, banking partners, scheme reports, and issuing and acquiring systems 
  • Monitor, investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks and discrepancies
  • Monitor settlement flows, chargebacks, reserves and pending transactions
  • Ensure reconciliation processes are completed within defined SLAs
  • Escalate operational and financial risks proactively
  • Ensure reconciliation processes are properly documented and supported by a clear audit trail
  • Analyze large volumes of financial and operational data across multiple systems
  • Work closely with IT and Data teams to extract, structure and validate reconciliation data 
  • Ensure reconciliation activities are traceable, auditable and properly evidenced in line with internal and regulatory expectations 
Safeguarding
  • Support the execution and monitoring of safeguarding controls and processes
  • Ensure client funds and safeguarded balances are accurately determined, monitored and reported
  • Perform and oversee daily safeguarding calculations and control checks
  • Identify gaps, anomalies or operational risks impacting safeguarding obligations
  • Coordinate safeguarding and reconciliation activities across regulated operations 
  • Support the continuous enhancement of safeguarding controls and reconciliation practices in response to evolving regulatory expectations 
Regulatory  compliance & process improvement
  • Maintain and enhance the safeguarding control framework
  • Contribute to process documentation, audit preparation and control evidence gathering
  • Help design and improve operational controls and reconciliation frameworks
  • Collaborate with Finance, Compliance, Risk and Operations teams to strengthen governance
Reporting & analysis
  • Prepare and manage daily safeguarding dashboards, monthly safeguarding reports, reconciliation KPIs and incident reports
  • Track reconciliation KPIs, unresolved breaks and operational anomalies across business lines 
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to improve operational efficiency and reduce risk 
  • Contribute to the preparation of reconciliation and safeguarding evidence required for audits, regulatory reviews and internal control purposes

  • 5+ years of experience in fintech, payments, banking, issuing or acquiring environments
  • Comfortable working in regulated environments
  • Advanced Excel and SQL skills required; experience with databases or data visualization tools (e.g. Metabase) is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Detail-oriented, structured and proactive
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to structure and improve processes
  • Knowledge of PSD2 and safeguarding regulatory frameworks is a strong plus
  • Fluent in English; professional proficiency in French is a strong plus
Must have
  • Experience in regulated fintech, payments or financial services environments
  • Experience working with issuing, acquiring or banking environments
  • Strong SQL and data analysis capabilities
  • Experience supporting audits, regulatory remediation or control enhancement programs
  • Knowledge of card schemes, settlement processes and PSD2 regulatory requirements

Skills Required
