Rug Department Lead

Tarkett has a great opportunity for a Rug Department Lead (Hospitality)Full Time 1st Shift 7AM-5PMSummary: The Rug Department Lead will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the rug department including order management, replenishing, shipments, equipment maintenance, and all other aspects of leading the rug department team.Your skills we value:

• Will be responsible for managing inventory levels for incoming and active rug orders.
• Communicate with relevant departments to align on inventory requirements and coordinate shipment schedules related to rugs.
• Accurately enter and manage data in the operations system.
• Organizing shift schedules for team members to meet rug production requirements.
• Monitoring attendance, tardiness, and time off for direct reports.
• Involved in the hiring process for hourly employees. Responsible for employee counseling and disciplinary actions, including recommendations for termination.
• Assigning duties to specific employees based on role and skills.
• Supervising employees and assisting with tasks as necessary
• Adhering to company policies and health, safety, and employment standards
• Ensures Serger maintenance and repair work is completed safely, effectively, and in a timely manner.
• Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments.
• Resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent delays.
• Actively monitor, evaluate, and report performance daily using the Shop Floor Management Tools in WCM. Take full ownership of shift and performance reporting management for Rug department.
• Works with the safety committee by attending safety meetings, working on safety projects, supporting safety within their department(s), completing safety surveys, and performing safety training.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
• Ability to identify issues and to determine repairs that are needed.
• Ability to plan maintenance schedules for building systems.
• Evaluates, develops, and ensures appropriate training processes are completed.
• Coaches and develops employees in problem-solving, scheduling, equipment problems, training, etc.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Will be required to operate a lift truck.
• Drive and perform lift truck safety inspection checklist daily.
• Any other duties assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

• 1–3 Year experience preferred in cut & sew rug manufacturing.
• Prior rug Serging/Binding experience preferred.
