The RTE Supervisor oversees daily operations in the Ready-to-Eat (RTE) production area to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant processing and packaging of finished products. This position is responsible for supervising RTE Line Leads and Packaging Technicians while enforcing company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and sanitation protocols. The RTE Supervisor ensures that all RTE products meet or exceed quality, safety, and regulatory standards while supporting continuous improvement across production teams. 

 

Essential Duties 
• Load and unload inbound and outbound RTE product as needed to support production schedules. 
• Supervise daily RTE production activities to ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and quality standards. 
• Oversee RTE Line Leads and Packaging Technicians to ensure proper execution of production schedules. 
• Enforce all RTE protocols, including gowning, sanitation, and zone separation requirements. 
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Sanitation teams to address and resolve food safety or quality concerns. 
• Monitor packaging and labeling operations for accuracy, product integrity, and compliance with specifications. 
• Verify code dates, lot tracking, and packaging documentation for accuracy and completeness. 
• Ensure all equipment in RTE zones is properly cleaned, sanitized, and maintained. 
• Conduct daily shift meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and safety updates. 
• Train and coach team members on RTE protocols, GMPs, and operational best practices. 
• Maintain accurate and timely completion of production reports, checklists, and required documentation. 
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement initiatives. 
• Ensure a clean, organized, and compliant work environment in accordance with company and USDA standards. 
• Report any safety hazards, quality deviations, or production issues to the Superintendent immediately. 
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support department and company objectives. 

 

Required Qualifications 
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
• 3–5 years of experience in food manufacturing preferred  
• Strong knowledge of RTE operations, USDA regulations, and GMP compliance. 
• Ability to lead and motivate a team while maintaining strong communication across departments. 
• Proficient in basic computer skills and production documentation systems. 
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities. 
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or extended shifts as needed. 
• Eligibility to work in the United States. 

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment 
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods. 
• Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to wet or humid conditions. 
• Regular exposure to cooked meat, cleaning chemicals, and moving equipment. 
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in all RTE zones. 
• Noise levels may vary from moderate to high depending on area and machinery.

Compliance and Safety 
This position must comply with all company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), OSHA regulations, and USDA food safety standards. The RTE Supervisor is expected to follow all food safety and workplace safety protocols and immediately report any non-compliance or safety hazards to a supervisor.
