Job DescriptionThe Roustabout provides general operational and maintenance support to the drilling crew. The role assists with cargo handling, rig housekeeping, equipment maintenance, material movement, and other routine activities necessary for safe and efficient rig operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with loading, unloading, moving, and securing equipment and materials.
- Support rig-up and rig-down activities.
- Assist with lifting and rigging operations under supervision.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping throughout the rig and work areas.
- Assist with cleaning, painting, chipping, greasing, and general maintenance.
- Support the deck and drilling crew during routine operations.
- Assist with handling pipes, tools, hoses, cables, and other equipment.
- Inspect tools and equipment and report defects to supervisors.
- Assist with waste segregation, collection, and disposal.
- Maintain access ways, work areas, and emergency routes.
- Follow instructions from the Driller, Derrickman, or other supervisors.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, drills, and training.
- Use PPE correctly and comply with all HSE requirements.
- Report unsafe conditions, near misses, spills, and incidents.
- Assist during emergency response activities as directed.
- Perform other duties assigned by Rig Management.
- Minimum of Secondary School Certificate or equivalent.
- Previous experience in drilling, marine, construction, or oil and gas operations is an advantage.
- Relevant rig or offshore training is desirable.
- Valid offshore safety certification and medical fitness, where applicable.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
