As infrastructure investment continues across Queensland, we are looking for an experienced Team Manager to lead our Highways team in Queensland. This is a key leadership role responsible for growing and developing the team, strengthening our relationships with the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR), and supporting the successful delivery of major road and transport infrastructure projects across the state.

You will combine people leadership with strong client relationships, commercial oversight and project delivery. Working closely with leaders across our Transport business, you will help shape the team’s direction and create an environment where our people and projects can succeed.

How you’ll make a difference

• Lead, manage and develop a high-performing team of highways professionals across Queensland.
• Build a positive and inclusive team culture focused on collaboration, development and technical excellence.
• Strengthen AECOM’s relationship with TMR and other key transport clients across Queensland.
• Work closely with clients to understand their priorities, identify opportunities and position AECOM for future work.
• Support business development activities, including strategic pursuits, bids, proposals and client engagement.
• Oversee the team’s project portfolio, resources, workload, budgets and financial performance.
• Provide leadership and guidance across the planning, design and delivery of highways projects.
• Work collaboratively with other Transport teams and technical disciplines across Australia and New Zealand to bring the best of AECOM to our clients.
• Champion safety, quality and sustainable outcomes across the team’s projects and day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered. 

• Significant experience in the Queensland roads and highways sector.
• Demonstrated experience working with TMR, including a strong understanding of its requirements, standards, procurement processes and project delivery environment. TMR experience is essential for this role.
• Proven experience leading, developing and supporting technical teams within an engineering consultancy or similar environment.
• Strong relationships across the Queensland transport market and the ability to build credibility with clients and industry partners.
• Experience identifying opportunities, contributing to successful pursuits and supporting business growth.
• Strong commercial awareness, with experience managing project performance, resources, budgets and competing priorities.
• A collaborative leadership style and the ability to work effectively across teams, disciplines and locations.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in civil engineering or a related discipline.
• RPEQ accreditation, or eligibility to obtain it, would be highly regarded.
