About the Role
As a Staff Nurse – Withdrawal Management/Sobering, you’ll provide direct patient care and medical monitoring to individuals withdrawing from substances or experiencing acute intoxication.
You’ll work closely with the Nurse Manager, Licensed Medical Practitioners, Certified Medical Assistants, Recovery Mentors, and multidisciplinary treatment teams to ensure safe, evidence-based care in a trauma-informed environment.
This is a hands-on nursing role where strong assessment skills, calm decision-making, and compassionate care truly matter.
What You’ll Do
Provide Direct Patient Care
- Conduct admission screenings and nursing assessments
- Monitor withdrawal symptoms, patient stability, and ongoing progress
- Administer medications and follow individualized treatment plans
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
Respond to Emergencies & Critical Needs
- Recognize and respond appropriately to crisis situations
- Coordinate with Licensed Medical Practitioners when patient conditions change
- Support safe transitions to higher levels of care when needed
Collaborate with the Care Team
- Work alongside CMAs, Recovery Mentors, and clinical teams to support patient outcomes
- Participate in case reviews, treatment planning, and care coordination meetings
- Help maintain safe, compliant, and effective treatment environments
Support Sobering Services
- Provide medical monitoring for acutely intoxicated individuals
- Ensure patient safety and stabilization within the sobering setting
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
OR - Associate’s Degree in Nursing + additional nursing experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in behavioral healthcare preferred
- Understanding of ASAM criteria and behavioral health interventions preferred
Licensure & Certifications
- Current Oregon RN or LPN license
- RN required for Sobering services
- BLS Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Crisis Prevention Training (within 90 days)
- Valid driver’s license if driving is required
