Essential Functions
- Manage and expand existing customer relationships within your territory
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new sales opportunities
- Build trusted relationships across engineering, purchasing, quality, and leadership teams
- Travel throughout the territory to meet with current and prospective customers
- Present product solutions through demonstrations, samples, and technical discussions
- Prepare pricing proposals, quotes, and sales agreements
- Maintain accurate forecasts, pipeline activity, and project tracking
- Partner with Inside Sales and Customer Service to support customer needs
- Resolve customer issues related to orders, deliveries, or project requirements
- Represent Electro-Matic at trade shows and industry events
- Stay current on products, technologies, and industry trends through ongoing training
Experience, Education and Skills
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline (Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred)
- 3+ years of outside sales experience in industrial automation or a closely related industry
- Experience with Siemens products strongly preferred
- Strong business acumen with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and accuracy
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and ability to learn and use a CRM application
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the territory (including occasional overnight travel)
