CRC Group is seeking a highly analytical and intellectually curious Risk Solutions Analyst to support the development, evaluation, and execution of innovative insurance and reinsurance structures across CRC Group. The Analyst will build and maintain financial models, evaluate underwriting portfolio performance, and support the assessment of reinsurance, proprietary capacity, and alternative capital solutions. The role will help CRC Group evaluate structures such as sidecars, quota share facilities, whole-account arrangements, portfolio risk-sharing programs, and strategic reinsurance partnerships.
Working closely with underwriting, actuarial, finance, reinsurance, operations, capacity management, and data teams, the Analyst will prepare scenario analyses, transaction diligence materials, portfolio reviews, market research, and executive decision-support materials. The Analyst will use reconciled financial and operational data to identify performance drivers, evaluate capital deployment alternatives, and communicate clear analytical conclusions.
This position is an individual contributor role with significant exposure to senior leadership, capacity providers, reinsurers, investment partners, and carrier stakeholders. The analyst will be responsible for the quality and timeliness of assigned analytical work products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Capital Solutions & Transaction Analytics

  • Support the evaluation, development, and execution of innovative insurance risk transfer structures, including:
    • Sidecars
    • Quota share facilities
    • Whole-account arrangements
    • Portfolio risk-sharing programs
    • Strategic reinsurance partnerships
    • Proprietary capacity vehicles
    • Other alternative capital solutions
  • Assist in financial modeling and scenario analysis for prospective transactions.
  • Analyze underwriting portfolio performance and capital efficiency across programs and facilities.
  • Support diligence processes involving reinsurers, carriers, investors, and strategic partners.

Portfolio Performance & Financial Modeling

  • Build and maintain financial models used to evaluate:
    • Program profitability
    • Return on capital
    • Risk-adjusted performance
    • Capacity deployment strategies
    • Alternative capital opportunities
  • Conduct sensitivity and stress-testing analyses under different underwriting and loss scenarios.
  • Analyze portfolio trends and identify opportunities to improve capital utilization and risk-adjusted returns.
  • Develop reporting and dashboards for management and capital partners.

Reinsurance & Capacity Strategy

  • Support analysis of reinsurance structures and their impact on portfolio economics.
  • Evaluate attachment points, participation levels, commissions, and expected returns across various capital structures.
  • Assist in monitoring capacity utilization and performance across partner carriers and reinsurers.
  • Help assess new capacity opportunities and emerging market solutions.

Market Intelligence & Strategic Analysis

  • Conduct research on:
    • Reinsurance market conditions
    • E&S market trends
    • Alternative capital providers
    • Competitor capacity structures
  • Develop market analyses and strategic recommendations for underwriting leadership.
  • Assist in evaluating new program opportunities and partnership structures.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Professional Development

  • Work closely with underwriting, actuarial, finance, data analytics, and operations teams to support strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with program leaders to understand portfolio dynamics, profitability drivers, and growth opportunities.
  • Support executive-level presentations and board materials related to risk transfer, capital deployment, and strategic transactions.
  • Contribute to the continual enhancement of analytical tools, models, and reporting processes.
  • Develop increasing knowledge of property and casualty insurance economics, delegated underwriting structures, reinsurance, proprietary capacity, and alternative capacity solutions.
  • Take on progressively more complex analytical assignments as technical knowledge and business judgement develop.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, Risk Management, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • 0-2 years of experience in:
    • Insurance
    • Reinsurance
    • Data Analytics
  • Strong Excel modeling skills, with Python, Power BI, Tableau, and Posit experience  preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability.
  • Ability to synthesize quantitative findings into clear business recommendations.
  • Prior exposure to P&C insurance, MGA businesses, reinsurance, or financial modeling is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work with large or complex datasets and identify inconsistencies, gaps, and material trends.
  • Experience working with financial models and large datasets using machine learning and advanced analytical techniques is a plus.
  • Intellectual curiosity and demonstrated interest in insurance, reinsurance, underwriting economics, or alternative capital.

The annual base salary for this position is $80,000 - $90,000.
