As a young organization, we are looking for a Risk Operations Associate who can weave trust into the fabric of our organization and its processes.

What you will do

  • Onboarding due diligence: Scrutinize documents and details during customer onboarding to prevent the onboarding of fraudulent users.
  • Underwriting: Conduct thorough underwriting checks of new and existing clients to assess and verify their financial stability and risk profile
  • Document verification: Review and verify proof of address documents such as utility bills, tenancy contracts, and bank statements to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Ongoing fraud monitoring: Conduct ongoing transaction and merchant monitoring using the fraud engine to detect and prevent suspicious activities.
  • Risk monitoring and investigations: Conduct investigations, including performing Acuris checks, analyzing failed payments, and reviewing blocked payments and top-ups.
  • Collaboration and compliance: Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure that systems, controls, and procedures effectively prevent, detect, respond to, and remediate issues related to internal and external fraud risk.
  • Business document review: Assess expired and newly submitted business documents, making necessary updates in our internal systems.

  • Ability to use multiple tools (technology) creatively during investigations to reach correct conclusions on fraud cases
  • Previous experience in a similar operational role
  • Basic knowledge of KYB, legal forms, and ownership structures will be preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in recognizing forged or suspicious documents, and identifying fraudulent transaction trends
  • Competence in checking document validity and extracting essential information from our systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Training related to documents and the internal system will be provided
