Risk Manager 

Knoxville, TN and Gatlinburg, TN | Full-Time, Exempt | Reports to VP of Finance 

Position Summary 

Revel Group is seeking an experienced Risk Manager to oversee the company’s commercial insurance administration, claims management, exposure reporting, audits, and day-to-day risk management activities across multiple entities, operating locations, attractions, hospitality operations, and properties. 

This role will serve as a key point of contact for insurance carriers, brokers, third-party administrators, and internal stakeholders. The Risk Manager will partner closely with Finance, Operations, HR, Safety, Legal, and other leaders to maintain accurate insurance programs, manage claims effectively, identify risk exposures, support loss prevention efforts, and ensure insurance-related compliance across the organization. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage the day-to-day administration of Revel Group’s commercial insurance programs, including General Liability, Property, Auto, Workers’ Compensation, Umbrella/Excess, EPLI, Cyber, and other applicable lines. 

  • Coordinate annual insurance renewals, including gathering exposure information, preparing renewal submissions, reviewing quotes and coverage options, and coordinating deliverables with brokers and carriers. 

  • Prepare and maintain accurate renewal submissions, loss runs, exposure data, operational information, and supporting documentation. 

  • Review insurance policies, endorsements, certificates, limits, deductibles, retentions, exclusions, and other coverage information and escalate significant issues or recommendations to Finance leadership. 

  • Manage the day-to-day claims process, including timely reporting, documentation, adjuster/TPA communication, claim tracking, follow-up, escalation, and closure. 

  • Monitor open claims and loss trends and work with Operations, HR, Safety, and other departments to identify opportunities to reduce frequency and severity. 

  • Maintain accurate insurance records, including policies, endorsements, certificates, schedules, vehicle and property information, renewal dates, and other program documentation. 

  • Coordinate insurance audits, including Workers’ Compensation and liability audits, and ensure payroll, classifications, revenue, property, vehicle, and subcontractor exposure information is accurate and submitted timely. 

  • Partner with Finance on insurance premiums, allocations, reconciliations, budgeting, and insurance-related reporting. 

  • Assist with identifying insurance coverage gaps, risk exposures, and opportunities to strengthen risk controls and reduce the company’s total cost of risk. 

  • Develop and maintain reporting related to policies, renewals, claims, exposures, insurance costs, and key risk issues. 

  • Support risk assessments and loss-prevention initiatives across Revel Group properties and operations. 

  • Maintain insurance compliance requirements and provide certificates of insurance and other documentation to internal and external stakeholders as needed. 

  • Serve as a resource to managers and department leaders regarding insurance, claims, risk management, and related processes. 

  • Support special projects related to risk management, insurance, safety, compliance, and organizational growth. 



Qualifications

What We’re Looking For 

Required 

  • 3–5+ years of progressive experience in commercial insurance, risk management, brokerage, carrier, claims, or a comparable corporate risk function. 

  • Experience supporting or managing commercial insurance renewals from submission through binding. 

  • Working knowledge of commercial insurance programs, policy administration, endorsements, certificates of insurance, deductibles, retentions, limits, and exclusions. 

  • Experience working with brokers, carriers, underwriters, TPAs, adjusters, and/or claims professionals. 

  • Experience managing or coordinating claims, insurance audits, exposure reporting, and loss runs. 

  • Strong analytical, organizational, documentation, communication, and deadline-management skills. 

  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to organize and analyze claims, exposure, and insurance data. 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced, multi-location environment. 

Preferred 

  • Experience in attractions, amusement parks, outdoor recreation, hospitality, entertainment, retail, property, construction, or similarly complex multi-site operations. 

  • Experience with self-insured retentions, large deductibles, captive programs, or alternative risk structures. 

  • ARM, CPCU, AIC, CIC, or other relevant insurance/risk designation. 

  • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting and analytics tools.

Success in this role means Revel Group’s insurance and risk management processes are organized, accurate, proactive, and financially responsible. The Risk Manager will improve renewal readiness, claims visibility, exposure accuracy, insurance compliance, loss prevention, and communication between the company and its insurance partners. 

The successful candidate will bring structure to the day-to-day risk function while identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce preventable losses, and support the organization as it continues to grow.
