Permanent Supervision is an integral part of the Bank’s Risk Management Framework. Permanent Supervision, constituted as a Business Unit (BU) within the Risk SBU, provides independent second-line oversight over the effectiveness of internal controls across the Bank. Through continuous risk and control monitoring, Permanent Supervision aims to strengthen the control environment, support sound risk management practices and protect enterprise value.

By joining the team as Risk and Control Executive, you will report to the Risk & Control Team Leader and contribute to the continuous assessment of risks and controls across the Bank’s activities, products, processes and systems. You will work closely with business stakeholders to identify control weaknesses, promote a strong risk culture, and support the implementation of effective and sustainable remediation actions.

We are on the lookout for:

Job Vacancy: Risk & Control Executive

In this role you will,

1. Continuous Monitoring:

  • Design, develop, maintain and periodically review control libraries to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, internal policies, operating models and business objectives;
  • Conduct risk-based control testing to assess the design adequacy and operating effectiveness of key controls across business processes and support functions;
  • Perform thematic reviews and targeted assessments in response to emerging risks, incidents, regulatory developments or changes within the operating environment;
  • Monitor the implementation of agreed action plans and validate the effectiveness and sustainability of remediation measures;
  • Own the identification, development, monitoring and reporting of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), including periodic reviews to ensure ongoing relevance and effectiveness.

2. Risk Identification and Assessment:

  • Act as a proactive risk partner by identifying, assessing and monitoring operational, compliance, conduct, strategic, financial and emerging risks across the organization;
  • Evaluate the impact of business, process, regulatory and technological changes on the risk and control environment;
  • Escalate material risks and control weaknesses in a timely manner through appropriate governance channels.

3. Risk Governance and Reporting: 

  • Prepare high-quality (clear, concise and impactful) risk and control reports, dashboards and management information for senior management and risk committees of the Bank;
  • Analyse risk trends, recurring issues and control performance indicators to support informed decision-making;
  • Ensure significant risks and control issues are appropriately communicated, tracked and resolved within agreed timelines.

4. Risk and Control Culture:

  • Promote strong risk and control culture across the Bank through stakeholder engagement, awareness initiatives and constructive challenges;
  • Provide guidance and support to business units on risk management, internal controls and governance matters.

5. Policies, Methodologies and Frameworks:

  • Contribute to the development, review and enhancement of policies, methodologies, standards and procedures relating to Permanent Supervision and Internal Controls.

6. Stakeholder Management and Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Internal Audit, Compliance, and other stakeholders to ensure a coordinated and integrated approach to risk management;
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Heads of Strategic Business Units, to facilitate effective risk communication, escalation and management;
  • A trusted advisor to management on matters relating to risk and internal controls.

  • Develops and delivers clear communications tailored to a variety of audiences;
  • Holds self and others accountable for achieving commitments and delivering results;
  • Manoeuvres comfortably through complex organizational, policy, , and stakeholder environments effectively.

We are looking for candidates who has a minimum of:

EITHER

  • A completed bachelor’s degree in Banking/Finance/Management or any other related field;
  • 5 years of experience in risk management, internal controls/audit, or a related field, preferably within the financial services industry.

OR

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in risk management, internal controls/audit, or a related field, preferably within the financial services industry.

AND

  • Strong knowledge of risk management principles and practices;
  • Excellent analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills;
  • Proficiency in risk assessment and control methodologies;
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards;
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills;
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities;
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and data analysis/reporting tools.

A combination of both qualification & experience will be considered.

Skills Required

  • Either: Bachelor's degree in Banking/Finance/Management or related field plus 5 years' experience in risk management/internal controls/audit; OR minimum 7 years' experience in risk management/internal controls/audit
  • Strong knowledge of risk management principles and practices
  • Excellent analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in risk assessment and control methodologies
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills
