The Role
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Risk Analyst Consultant.
The successful candidate will report to the CIB Portfolio Risk lead and will work closely with the other CIB Risk teams as well as other Business Sponsors.
In this role, you will:
  • Participate in less complex analysis and modeling initiatives, and identify opportunity for process production, data reconciliation, and model documentation improvements within Risk Management
  • Review and analyze programing models to extract data, and manipulate databases to provide statistical and financial modeling, and exercise independent judgment to guide new and existing projects with medium risk deliverables
  • Coordinate and consolidate the production of monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports for more experienced management
  • Present recommendations for resolving data reconciliation, production, and database issues
  • Exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in policy governance, risk projects, and regulatory requests
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, managers, experienced managers, compliance, including various lines of business
Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of corporate &/or investment banking experience in Enterprise Risk Management, Risk Monitoring and risk control experience.
  • In-depth understanding of the Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau with strong SQL.
  • Strong background in designing and executing robust processes and controls within risk stripes
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and detail orientated
  • Bachelor/Master's degree preferably in Finance / Economics / Business Management
  • Self-starter, takes initiative, and has a strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Experience in financial industries including risk management will be a plus
  • Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate several reports / projects at once
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience preferred from a large, matrixed, global financial services company
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to foster constructive relationships with business leaders across all lines of defense and peers at other financial institutions.
  • The ideal candidate will have Financial risk fundamentals, experience with portfolio analytics and controls, and the ability to drive process efficiency in a fast-paced lending environment
  • Review risk monitoring activities and identify and recommend opportunities for risk reporting.
  • Design and conduct data analysis to identify and remediate data quality issues and control gaps.
  • Work with the team to develop risk analytics dashboard prototypes.
  • Ability to interpret and explain complex information to a range of audience and build consensus among different stake holders.
  • Work with business partners, provide analytic solutions, and develop strategies to support or negate change recommendations
  • Collaborate with software developers to integrate various risk analytics solutions which include risk dashboard, AI/ML tools.
  • Participate in regular meetings with and provide risk analysis and updates to relevant senior management.
  • Work with the technology team to deploy appropriately detailed solution
  • Review and analyze credit performance or credit portfolio that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives, and exercise independent judgment to guide medium risk deliverables
  • Present recommendations for resolving more complex situations and exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in credit consulting service
  • Identify and assess potential and emerging risks, and partnering on Horizontal Risk and portfolio strategies within the scope of responsibilities
