NOV South Africa is seeking a highly experienced Riser Project Manager – Eastern Hemisphere to lead the technical and operational alignment of our Riser Inspection and Repair service groups across the Eastern Hemisphere. In this role, you will collaborate across the full Riser product lifecycle—including customers, engineering, programs, and operations—to ensure seamless execution, standardisation, and continuous improvement. You will also work closely with the Western Hemisphere region to drive global alignment, share best practices, and enhance service delivery. Your responsibilities will span both Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) and non-CBM riser inspection, repair, and related service scopes, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead the coordination, and technical alignment of Riser inspection and repair activities across the Eastern Hemisphere.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on inspection findings, repair recommendations, and engineering solutions to ensure consistent regional execution.
  • Collaborate with customers, engineering, operations, and program teams to define project scopes, deliver effective solutions, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying trends, implementing best practices, and supporting new technologies, processes, and tooling.
  • Support commercial and operational success by reviewing inspection and repair proposals, resource planning, and project execution strategies.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and work instructions to promote standardisation and operational excellence.
  • Identify opportunities for business growth and product life extension, working closely with Product Engineering to enhance customer value.
  • Monitor regional activities, providing updates, capturing lessons learned, and supporting quality and corrective action initiatives.
  • Coordinate regional communication and operational alignment, including leading regular operational meetings and supporting sites without dedicated Riser facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with NOV's HSE, quality, and corporate governance standards, promoting a strong safety culture and adherence to company policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering are preferred but other technical qualifications coupled with the desired experience will also be considered.

EXPERIENCE: 

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a Service/Repair/Operations environment is preferred. 

  • Experience in the Oil & Gas industry and more specifically Marine Risers would be ideal for this position. 

  • Previous travel experience is essential.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: 

  • Highly detail orientated and organized in work, good communication and interpersonal skills, Ability to act and operate independently, good understanding of the Oilfield business and customer requirements. 

  • Good financial acumen and customer focus.

  • Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

This role requires regular international travel across the Eastern Hemisphere to support project execution, customer engagements, operational alignment, and business needs.

Skills Required
