Job DescriptionThe Rig Nurse/Medic provides medical care and emergency medical support to personnel onboard the rig, maintains medical records, and supports the implementation of occupational health and emergency medical procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first aid and medical treatment to personnel onboard.
- Assess and manage injuries, illnesses, and medical emergencies.
- Maintain the rig clinic, medical equipment, and medication supplies.
- Conduct routine health assessments and medical consultations within scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records.
- Administer medications and treatments as authorized.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and accidents.
- Stabilize patients and coordinate medical evacuation when required.
- Participate in emergency drills and medical response exercises.
- Provide health education and promote occupational health awareness.
- Monitor hygiene, sanitation, food safety, and general health conditions onboard.
- Report occupational injuries and illnesses in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain adequate medical supplies and monitor expiry dates.
- Ensure compliance with company medical and HSE requirements.

- Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Midwife (RM), or qualified Paramedic, depending on the company's requirements.
- Valid registration with the relevant professional regulatory body.
- Minimum of 3–5 years clinical experience, preferably in emergency medicine, occupational health, offshore, marine, or oil & gas environments.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and/or PHTLS/ITLS certification as applicable.
- Training/certification in offshore emergency medical response is highly desirable.
- Experience in medical evacuation and emergency response is an advantage.
- Valid offshore safety certification and medical fitness where applicable.
