Job Description:
As a Revenue Management Analyst, you’ll play a direct and meaningful role in driving Southwest’s financial performance by shaping the pricing and yield strategies that fuel billions in revenue across our network. You’ll own a portfolio of markets generating up to $700M annually, making real‑time decisions that influence how we price seats, manage demand, and stay competitive in a dynamic marketplace. By analyzing booking trends, forecasting demand, and identifying opportunities across the booking curve, your work will directly impact how full our planes fly and how we deliver on our Low Fare Brand.
Working closely with Commercial leaders and Revenue Management partners, you’ll turn complex data into clear insights that guide business decisions at scale. Using tools like SQL and large datasets, you’ll uncover trends, solve performance challenges, and continuously refine strategies that drive revenue growth. In this role, your analysis won’t sit on a slide—it will directly influence outcomes, helping Southwest stay efficient, competitive, and positioned for long‑term success.

Responsibilities
Proactively monitor and oversee market and city performance and forecast quality to identify opportunities for revenue growth; identify outliers in performance and take appropriate actions
Understand and adjust market strategy at every point in the booking curve
Deliver regular updates and well-written post-analysis on assigned markets and cities
Assist team in managing holidays and special events; conduct and present analysis on revenue performance within market scope
Use SQL to pull large amounts of data that support root cause analysis and communication
- Collaborate with other Revenue Management teams on root-cause analysis and revenue opportunities
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
- Intermediate knowledge of macro and microeconomic principles and the impact on demand forecast
- Intermediate knowledge of Revenue Management and Pricing principles
- Skilled in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
- Skilled in collecting, organizing, visualizing and assimilating data, including turning raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software
- Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Skilled in understanding and applying information to contribute to the organization’s strategic plan
- Ability to communicate in a flexible and effective manner
- Ability to confidentially and clearly present presentations to Leaders
- Ability to make decisions in an ambiguous environment and actively make trade-offs considering the highest revenue opportunity or greatest sense of urgency
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in:
- Revenue Management, Pricing and similar analytical field
- Preparing and presenting high level business reporting to leadership
- Excel or similar spreadsheets and relational databases like SQL
- Preferred: Experience with SQL or Alteryx
- Preferred: Airline, Revenue Management, or Hospitality experience
- Preferred: Experience with a Revenue Management project

Pay & Benefits:
- Competitive market salary from $77,200 per year to $85,800 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
