The Role
GeneDx is a patient-centered technology platform seeking an experienced product lead to drive a cross-functional road map for our revenue cycle management platform product.
In this role, you will drive the road map for revenue cycle from order processing, PA and claim submission, through to revenue recognition, optimizing for efficiency and reimbursement yield. You and a cross-functional team including billing specialists, market owners, and commercial leads will deliver solutions that enable GeneDx to provide a seamless billing experience to external and internal stakeholders. You’ll also play a role in driving the scalability and efficiency needed to deliver GeneDx’s long-range plan, via automation and machine learning tools where applicable.
With your engineering colleagues, you will work to ensure your development team has clearly defined goals, requirements, and specs; with clear, aggressive, yet achievable plans for execution. Your role is to partner with commercial, market access, and data leaders across GeneDx to define key reimbursement challenges and goals, and to solve them creatively and cross-functionally to generate revenue cycle value. The role includes ideating, designing, testing, iterating, delivering, and launching new platform product capabilities to this end.
Experience, Traits, and Skills
- 5+ years of experience in revenue cycle and reimbursement processes and systems in healthcare
- 5+ years of experience in product management, delivering complex cross functional products and features to internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in ideation, design, testing, building, and launching software products. Experience working within a complex technical environment is a plus.
- Experience building automation or decision support capabilities with quality, efficiency, and scalability
- Demonstrated ability to influence strategically and drive alignment cross-functionally
- High intellectual curiosity and obsession with understanding and solving customer needs, especially in the healthcare, biopharma, and technology space
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Results-oriented and self-motivated, either working independently or as part of a team
- Ability to think strategically and tactically while managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change under pressure to meet deadlines
The Responsibilities
- Execute a high-value product roadmap that brings new RCM capabilities to life to maximize reimbursement and improve transparency and for patients and clinicians around billing.
- Develop a strategy to optimize GeneDx’s RCM processes and procedures to deliver positive results impacting the company's OKRs
- Work with your colleagues across the organization to identify and quantify opportunities, ideate and design a solution, drive alignment toward the plan, and execute iteratively.
- Work with other product and engineering teams to implement an end-to-end roadmap that delivers value to your users in a platform-based org structure
- Demonstrate leadership and collaboration skills by independently making decisions for RCM initiatives, and by working with cross-functional teams to successfully execute business initiatives across various products and platforms
- Stay current as a subject matter expert on the latest trends in RCM and technology, customer market segments, and business practices
The Objectives
- Improve GeneDx’s revenue cycle management processes within 12 months by reducing costs, improving accuracy and timeliness of revenue collection, and improving customer satisfaction
- Within 12 months, streamline the revenue cycle management (RCM) workflow to reduce the time and effort required to complete tasks for both providers and patients.
- Improve accuracy of claims processing within 12 months to reduce health insurance denial rates and turnaround times.
- Develop a comprehensive measurement plan that includes key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, collects, and analyzes data, and reports on the results to key stakeholders within 12 months.
