Downer is seeking a highly organised Resource Scheduler to play a critical role in coordinating resources across asphalt projects. Based out of Brendale, you will develop detailed delivery plans, ensuring crews, equipment, and materials are scheduled effectively to support safe, efficient, and profitable project delivery while maintaining strong customer relationships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and schedule crews, plant, materials, and subcontractors to support project delivery requirements.
  • Develop and maintain detailed resource plans using electronic scheduling systems.
  • Manage asphalt and profiling truck schedules to optimise utilisation and minimise costs.
  • Ensure all resources and suppliers meet compliance requirements, including NHVR standards.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Supervisors, and operational teams to align scheduling with delivery plans.
  • Coordinate with work-winning teams to maximise crew utilisation and minimise downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records, including cartage documentation and scheduling data.
  • Champion Zero Harm by ensuring only appropriately trained and compliant resources are scheduled.

ABOUT YOU

  • Significant experience in complex resource scheduling (ideally within civil, construction, or asphalt environments).
  • Certificate in Project Management and/or Civil Engineering (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of resource planning systems and scheduling platforms.
  • Ability to optimise resource allocation and drive utilisation outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and customer relationship skills.
  • Knowledge of asphalt paving operations (highly regarded).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.
