Repsol is seeking an engineering student to intern with the Reservoir Engineering Team during the summer of 2027.

Job Description: The successful candidate will be assigned a project within an area of interest to be supervised by a senior member of the Reservoir Engineering Team.
The role of the Unconventional Reservoir Engineer Intern is to support the Subsurface Development team in the evaluation of mid to long term strategic alternatives/ options to ensure the value of the Asset is maximized.
- Support the Subsurface Development Team to maintain an up to date, integrated geophysical and geological model of the subsurface
- Support the Subsurface Development Team in utilizing this model, develop and characterize a complete inventory of capital investment opportunities (“drilling inventory”) on Company lands
- Support the Subsurface Development Team to provide G&G input to allow maintenance of an up-to-date assessment of resource potential
- Support the Subsurface Development Team to characterize the capital investment inventory for input in strategic plans and budgets
- Support the Subsurface Development Team in the calculation / determination of the annual reserve process including optimizing reserve additions, compliance with internal / external reserve auditors, and any related reserve reporting requirements
- Support the Subsurface Development Team in the development of an annual capital program for the asset consistent with strategic plan for budget approval, and steward the capital budget over the year
- Support the Subsurface Development Team in the ongoing analysis of the integrated schedule to optimize and enhance value of the Asset
- Support the Subsurface Development Team in maintaining and updating an accurate and compliant assessment of reserves and resource position
- Identify process improvement opportunities to ensure assets are resilient at any commodity price
- Ability to effectively work within a multidiscipline team and matrix organization.
- Ability to establish a strong communication channel with the field personnel
- Coordinate field visits with your supervisor.
Requirements for Consideration:
Fully authorized to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship now or in the future. Additionally, we are not authorized for employment under OPT/CPT/F1 visa programs.
Successful completion of 2 years towards a Bachelor's (or higher) in an Engineering discipline - Petroleum and Geosciences preferred, but open to other engineering disciplines.
Students with an expected graduation 2028-2029 are encouraged to apply (juniors or sophomores). May 2027 graduates may only be considered if enrolled in a post-graduate program.
Must have cumulative and major GPA of 3.3 or higher, to be confirmed with transcript (unofficial transcript is acceptable)
Must be available for a continuous 12-week period for the duration of the 2027 summer intern program, starting May 17th and ending on August 6th.
Preference for candidates with some internship experience, ideally within oil & gas but not required.

Internship Details:
Position will be based out of our office in The Woodlands, TX. Interns are expected onsite Monday-Friday, with the exception of 9/80's. The 9/80 schedule is optional per the manager's discretion, based on intern project scope and timeline.
Non-local candidates may be considered but must arrange their own travel and temporary accommodations. A summer stipend will be provided to help offset out of pocket expenses.
Students must be available for the full duration of the internship from May 17-Aug 6. Any personal time off must be approved by the supervisor as unpaid leave and should be noted with the recruiter as early as possible.
Interns will receive an hourly wage but are not eligible for benefits or paid time off. Interns will be compensated for observed company holidays.
