Job Summary
SummaryIn consultation with their Principal Investigator (PI), undertake and execute a program of scientific study culminating in publication. Drives research projects scientifically and determines the course of research as evidenced by leadership, obtaining funding, writing, or other recognition. May not necessarily receive independent resources; however, their contribution is essential to the conceptual/scientific success of the project. They assist their PI in the training and supervision of other laboratory personnel and in a wide variety of administrative tasks, as necessary.

Qualifications
This position in the BWH Center for Cellular Profiling offers the opportunity to join a group studying single-cell and Spatial organization in disease pathology. Our Center performs a combination of high-dimensional analyses, including single-cell RNA sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, and high-dimensional flow cytometry. Under general supervision by Drs. Brenner and Wei, and in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures, the self-motivated individual will perform activities related to the single-cell genomics and or flow cytometry cell sorting, including NGS library generation, 10X Genomics workflow (Chromium, Visium, and Xenium), and or familiarize with BD or Sony cell sorters and analyzers. Responsibilities includes the implementation and execution of single-cell and novel spatial transcriptomic techniques. In addition, the candidate will supervise trainees and technicians to perform NGS and 10X Genomics pipelines. The candidate will also conduct consultation with investigators and core users, perform troubleshooting, and work with administrative directors to support budget development and planning.
1. Designs and performs high-level, complex experiments independently.
2. Perform Single-cell Transcriptomics Experiments.
a. Cell capture, NGS library generation,
b. Plan library sequencing strategies.
c. Review sequencing data
d. troubleshoot techniques
3. Perform High-Parameters Flow Cytometry Experiments
a. Perform cell sorting
b. Maintenance of the cell sorters and analyzers
c. Identify and resolve technical issues with flow cytometry instruments, maintaining equipment, and ensuring quality control.
4.Supervise research assistant trainees.
5.Provide consultation with new investigators and researchers
6.Maintain supplies inventory in accordance with laboratory and department procedures.
7.Assist in the orientation and training of new students, technicians, and fellows 8.Maintain established department policies, procedures and objectives, including the areas of quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control. 9. Perform other duties as directed.
