This position is based at Galvanize Therapeutics headquarters in Redwood City, CA. This is not a remote position, and remote applicants will not be considered.
The Research Scientist provides broad and in-depth scientific support of Translational Research, Clinical, and Medical Affairs activities. They are focused on the translational and clinical science analysis of advanced biological and clinical outcomes phenomena, particularly in relation to cellular, tissue, and immunological responses to pulsed electric fields (PEFs). These efforts include executing, interpreting, and communicating advanced immunological and clinical data and analyses. They are responsible for leading the laboratory benchwork and preclinical in vivo experiments directed towards evaluating advanced response concepts. They may support external research projects, including consulting on and performing biological analyses, as well as travel to assist with delivery of modified Aliya protocols at external research facilities under Research Grant Agreements.
- Education and Training: Advanced degree (MS or higher) in biological sciences or biomedical engineering required.
- Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years' of experience in research activities including biology, imaging, or cellular analysis.
- Experience needed in various in vitro and in vivo evaluation and imaging and quantification methodologies required, including ELISA, fluorescent microscopy, and flow cytometry, ideally with a focus on oncologic models.
- Experience with pulsed electric field cell and tissue response ideal.
- Other: Some local or regional travel (30%). Handling of potentially hazardous chemicals and hazardous waste required. Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. occasionally.
- Collaborate with Translational, R&D, and Clinical Teams to execute foundational experimental models and methods to analyze clinical and pre-clinical biological endpoints
- Design, execute, analyze, and manage benchtop, in vitro, and in vivo research to explore various targeted objectives for developing and improving therapies
- Build experimental pipelines and strategies to develop novel therapies and approaches, including payload deliveries and combinatorial strategies
- Oversee personnel, as appropriate, to direct experimental performance and results analysis
- Generate intellectual property
- Maintain command of the relevant literature and other information sources to defend experimental designs, analysis methods, and endpoint data
- Support publication and scientific meeting content
This role pays between $115,000 and $130,000 per year, and your actual base pay will depend on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
