Job Duties

Position is for part-time work averaging 2 hours per week under the supervision of Dr. Michael Schuster (Natural Sciences Division). Travel to field sites throughout Minnesota will be required for approximately 10-15 days annually with either a supplied vehicle or compensated mileage if a personal vehicle is used. The position has an anticipated start date of 9/15/2026 and an anticipated end date of 12/31/2027 with the possibility of renewal based on funding. 

● (70%) Measure plant growth, physiology, and phenology

● (20%) Lab work includes data entry, biomass assessments, and leaf area analysis

● (10%) Lab coordination

Required Qualifications

● High school degree and two years of related education and/or related experience.

● Past work in forestry or ecology and experience in field data collection relating to plant growth, physiology, and/or forestry.

● Candidates must be willing to travel to field sites throughout Minnesota.

Preferred Qualifications

● Experience leading teams in field settings

● Familiarity with buckthorn management in Minnesota

Compensation:

Pay Range: $19.25 - $21.00 per hour
