About the opportunity

We are seeking a Research Midwife to support the clinical trial process from planning through to execution. The role involves supporting trial coordination, data capture and verification, ethics and compliance activities, and stakeholder communication to ensure trials are delivered in line with Good Clinical Practice and the highest ethical and scientific standards.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • support the end-to-end clinical trial process, assisting with planning, initiation and execution of trials and ensuring smooth operations from start-up to close-out

  • together with individual study Principal Investigators provide operational oversight across a number of clinical studies conducted by the Reproduction and Perinatal Centre

  • support data capture and verification for clinical trials, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulations

  • follow ethics guidelines and workplace health and safety regulations, preparing materials for committee submissions

  • build productive relationships with research staff, trial sponsors and external vendors to support effective communication and collaboration

  • uphold the principles of Good Clinical Practice in all clinical trials, ensuring ethical and scientific quality standards are met

  • lead stakeholder communications, ensuring concerns are addressed effectively and in a timely manner while fostering trust and collaboration

  • facilitate timely report submission, uphold data integrity within university systems and support compliance initiatives

  • coordinate purchasing processes and resolve discrepancies in payment schedules

  • champion a proactive approach to health and safety, review work area protocols and support consistent safety standards across tasks and projects.

About you

  • bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience

  • experience in clinical trial management and supporting clinical trials

  • knowledge of ICH guidelines and Good Clinical Practice

  • experience working in a research-intensive environment

  • skills in data analysis, analytical and problem solving, organisation and time management, critical thinking and decision making, numeracy and attention to detail

  • computer literacy, research software skills and the ability to communicate effectively, provide customer service and work collaboratively in a team.
