About Edelman and Edelman Intelligence
Edelman is a global communications firm that partners with businesses and organizations to build trust, navigate change, and create meaningful impact. Our culture is built on three promises: boldness is possibility, empathy is progress, and curiosity is momentum.
Edelman Intelligence is Edelman’s research and data analytics division. We bring together research, data and analytics to help clients better understand their audiences, reputation and the world around them — and turn that understanding into insights that inform communications and business decisions.
As a Research Intern, you will gain hands-on exposure to research in a real-world, multidisciplinary environment. You will work alongside our researchers and analysts across a variety of projects and see first-hand how data and insights inform the work of teams and clients across Edelman.
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Research Intern, you will support the Edelman Intelligence team across qualitative, quantitative and secondary research, contributing to both ongoing research activities and project-based assignments. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct desk research and media monitoring, synthesizing information to summarize key findings, patterns and differences.
- Support survey and qualitative research, including survey testing, data validation, content analysis and coding.
- Assist with data preparation, basic quantitative analysis and interpretation of findings for regular research and reporting.
- Help turn research and data into clear outputs, including charts, presentations and reports using Excel and PowerPoint.
- Conduct quality checks across research materials, data and deliverables to help ensure accuracy and consistency.
Basic Requirements
We are looking for someone who is curious, proactive and eager to learn. You should:
- Be working towards, or have completed, a bachelor's or master's degree, with an interest in research, data and analytics.
- Be fluent in Excel and PowerPoint, with strong attention to detail and an openness to learning new tools and platforms.
- Have good written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese.
- Be a positive and adaptable team player who works well with others and contributes to a collaborative team environment.
- Be able to commit at least 3 full days per week for a minimum of 3 months (5 days per week and a longer-term commitment are preferred).
What You’ll Gain
- Hands-on experience across different research approaches, from surveys and qualitative research to media analysis and desk research.
- Exposure to how research and data are translated into insights that inform real-world communications and business decisions.
- Opportunities to learn from experienced researchers and work with colleagues across different teams and markets within Edelman.
We are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your experience doesn’t perfectly align with every qualification, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
