You'll join our Public Sector & Charities team as a Research Executive, working on research that helps government departments, charities, academics and NGOs understand public attitudes and make informed decisions. You'll contribute to projects from questionnaire design and data analysis through to reporting and presenting findings to clients, working across a wide variety of social and public-policy topics.

Depending on your experience, you'll manage some projects independently and work alongside senior researchers on larger or more complex studies. We're looking for someone who combines strong quantitative and communication skills with curiosity, initiative, and excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage research projects from start to finish, with support from senior colleagues, ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard.
  • Help design questionnaires and surveys, translating clients' research objectives into clear, unbiased, and effective questions.
  • Analyse and interpret quantitative data, identifying the findings and insights that explain why the results matter.
  • Work directly with clients and colleagues throughout projects, communicating clearly and ensuring the research meets the brief.
  • Take ownership of the quality of your work, proactively checking outputs, spotting potential issues, and finding solutions.
  • Contribute positively to the wider team, building strong working relationships and supporting colleagues where needed.

Behavioural competencies:

  • Strong critical thinking and curiosity: you enjoy interrogating information, spotting inconsistencies, and working out what findings really mean.
  • Initiative and ownership: you're comfortable getting started independently, anticipating what needs to happen next, and finding solutions to problems.
  • Excellent attention to detail: you check your own work carefully and care about getting things right.
  • Strong organisation: you can manage competing tasks, meet deadlines, and communicate early when something needs attention.
  • Clear communication: you can explain ideas and findings accurately and simply, both in writing and verbally.
  • Confidence with numbers: you're comfortable working with quantitative information and are interested in developing your research skills.

Qualifications:

  • Experience of contributing to research projects, including evidence you can take ownership, learn quickly, and provide high quality work.
  • Up to 1 years’ relevant experience, gained at a research agency or a mix of agency and client-side.
  • An existing understanding of quantitative research is desirable, while confidence working with data is essential.
  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience; a research, social science or related qualification such as the MRS Advanced Certificate would be an advantage.

Candidates must submit a 1 page Cover Letter with their application stating why their skills and experience make them a great fit for the position and highlighting relevant achievements.

As part of our application process, you may be invited to a structured conversation with Zee, an AI interviewer from our partner Zeeda, at a time that suits you. It's a chance to tell us about your experience in your own words, beyond your CV, and every application is reviewed by YouGov, who make all hiring decisions. If you are selected for a conversation with Zee, the invitation will cover how to prepare, how your data is handled and your choices.
