The Research Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting research activities for participants living with HIV and at risk for HIV within our organization. This position involves coordinating and managing various aspects of research studies under the guidance of Research Leadership and principal investigator(s) and in adherence to organizational and regulatory requirements. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to advancements in medical and social sciences research and make a meaningful impact on the delivery of healthcare and community services for a diverse patient population.

Essential Job Duties

  • Coordinate all aspects of research studies, including participant recruitment, scheduling, and data collection.
  • Ensure strict adherence to research protocols, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement participant recruitment strategies, ensuring eligible individuals' enrollment in research studies.
  • Facilitate the informed consent process, ensuring participants fully understand the study procedures, risks, and benefits.
  • Oversee the collection, recording, and management of research data, maintaining accuracy and integrity.
  • Collect biospecimens (e.g. blood, saliva, etc.), administer injections, and/or conduct rapid sexually transmitted infection testing with research participants.
  • Collaborate with principal investigators, research staff, and external partners to facilitate smooth study operations.
  • Monitor and track study progress, identifying and addressing any issues or deviations from the research protocol.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and completeness of research data.
  • Prepare regular progress reports, contribute to manuscripts, and assist in the dissemination of research findings.
  • Perform any and all other duties assigned by the supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all agency policies, including but not limited to Confidentiality, Employee Handbook, Health Care Corporate Compliance Plan, Standards of Conduct, training, and other relevant policies.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

Required and preferred knowledge and experiences to succeed.

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as biology, public health, social work or other related field.
  • Work Experience:
    • Prior experience working in clinical research, human subjects research, or healthcare preferred.
  • Technical Experience:
    • Good Clinical Practice, CITI and/or IATA Certification or the ability to obtain this within 90 days of hire.
    • Proficiency in rapid STI testing, phlebotomy and injections preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and clients from diverse backgrounds.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Knowledge of and sensitivity to the HIV/AIDS patient population and individuals at risk for HIV, and/or an eagerness to learn about this community.
  • Additional Preferred Qualifications:
    • HIV experience in a not-for-profit environment.

Pay Rate:

Starting at $24.00/hourly (Depending on Experience)

The final salary will be determined based on factors such as market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications. Please note that it is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range.
