Research and Development Associate III

SUMMARY 

The Research and Development (R&D) Associate III is responsible for executing research activities, collecting and analyzing data and preparing costs. They work closely with a team of scientists, engineers, or technicians to conduct experiments, analyze data, and contribute to the overall R&D efforts demonstrating experience with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the particular field. They perform a variety of scientific and administrative tasks with a certain degree of creativity and latitude expected.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS  

Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment and property.   

Must have a deep understanding of their field of expertise and possess scientific or technical knowledge with a strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.  

Excellent communication and leadership abilities to effectively collaborating with team members and stakeholders. 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

Plans and executes research projects or experiments. 

Conducts literature reviews and gather relevant information on a specific area of research. 

Designs and conducts experiments to test hypotheses or validate new ideas. 

Gathers data through various methods, such as experiments, surveys or interviews. 

Analyzes data to identify patterns and interprets findings. 

Prepares and delivers technical reports outlining research, outcomes and/or observations. 

Communicates with stakeholders on progress; manages risk and executes necessary mitigation. 

Maintains attention to detail to ensure accuracy of data and findings. 

Develops or improves products, processes, or technologies. 

Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives. 

Documents experimental procedures, results, and observations accurately. 

Troubleshoots technical issues and proposing solutions. 

Keeps up to date with the latest advancements in the field through literature review or attending conferences. 

Ensures compliance with safety regulations and protocols. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

Master's degree and a minimum of four to seven (4-7) years’ relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience.   

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.

The estimated pay range for this role is $39.50 to $40.50, with the final offer contingent on location, skillset, and experience.
