Position Description
We are seeking an experienced Sustainability Analyst to join the Energy Transition & Sustainability Research Team. Reporting to the Head of Energy Transition & Sustainability Research, you will be required to drive differentiated, investment‑relevant research at the intersection of energy transition, AI transformation and capital markets.
The successful candidate will spearhead our team’s Sustainability Research effort and drive ideas generation on sustainability topics that interlinks with sector teams within Research Department. This role is suited for experienced individuals who possess strong financial modelling skills, as well as a deep understanding of market dynamics in energy transition and AI transformation.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Develop thematic research on energy transition topics e.g. net‑zero pathways, carbon costs, energy security, policy impact, technology adoption curves
- Assess how AI adoption reshapes power/energy demand, emissions intensity and competitive positioning across multiple sectors
- Familiar with sustainability challenges linked to AI deployment e.g. power intensity, data‑center infrastructure, regulatory & social considerations
- Analyse how governance factors e.g. capital market reforms, value-up program could reshape equity markets and drive valuation upside/downside
- Produce high‑conviction investment ideas that is supported by rigorous financial analysis and valuation frameworks
- Able to link sustainability factors to earnings/cashflows/valuation, quantify the financial impact and make investment recommendations
- Work closely with regional and sector analysts to integrate sustainability themes into broader equity research
- Maintain and enhance the Sustainability Research franchise in the investment community
Requirements
- Post graduate or above, with a minimum of 6 to 8 years’ experience from buyside or sellside
- CPA/CFA qualification would be an advantage
- Prior experience in sector coverage of energy / utilities / industrials / materials are welcomed
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience addressing institutional investors
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet demanding publication timelines
- Self-driven and collaborative mindset
