Position Description
We are looking for an Insurance and Diversified Financial Research Analyst who will be responsible for providing lead coverage of the Insurance, Insurance Brokers and Diversified Financial stocks within the Australian listed market. The analyst will provide stock recommendations based on thorough analysis, financial models, company and industry insights. The analyst must be able to present and market effectively, externally to fund managers and clients and, internally to institutional sales and sales traders.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
Provide proactive and differentiated research on Insurance and Diversified Financials.
Develop financial models & valuation databases for all stocks under primary coverage.
Respond to market news, earnings releases, corporate developments and other market-moving information when necessary and in a proactive manner.
Develop and maintain key client relationships.
Actively engage with clients and the relevant sales team members to communicate ideas to ensure maximum exposure/return from the time invested in producing the report.
Maintain sound working relationships with corporates, clients and government/industry organizations.
Requirements
Bachelor degree or above in business related discipline, preferably with finance, insurance and/or accounting specialisation.
3-8 years’ experience as a research associate/analyst or alternatively funds management, insurance, investment banking or finance/accounting background would be an adavatage.
Strong analytical skills.
Strong understanding of financial modelling.
Strong excel/ spreadsheet skills.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure when required.
Excellent interpersonal sensitivity.
High sense of commercial awareness.
Excellent communication, relationship and management skills to both internal and external clients.
