The hired associate must reside within 35 miles of the following location:

Grandview: 1000 Yard Street Grandview OH, 43215

Work schedule: 2 days in office, 3 days remote.

This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization.  Nationwide does not participate in the Stem OPT Extension program.

Job Description Summary

As a Representative, you’ll provide prompt, efficient service to internal and external customers for assigned product and/or service center. You will coordinate administrative functions such as distributing reports, mailings, sales materials, technology support and coordinating administration of department function(s) with other areas. In addition, you’ll provide administrative support as needed.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assembles sales and broker/producer promotional kits. Coordinates various routine mailings.

  • Coordinates procurement and maintenance of sales promotional items. Arranges for printing and distribution of requested materials.

  • Provides quality customer service by demonstrating and understanding customer needs and emphasizing timely responses.

  • Coordinates staff support features including; technology support, ordering equipment and supplies, applications, business cards, etc.

  • Maintains all documents, information and applications for the unit.

  • Prepares emails and letters in response to customer/advisor requests for information.

  • Prepares reports, illustrations and special analysis within prescribed guidelines. Participates in special projects as needed.

  • Assists customers/advisors with nationwide.com website access issues.

  • Provides prompt and thorough responses to internal and external inquiries.

  • Orders and maintains all information or inventory related to product area.

 May perform other responsibilities as requested.

Reports Relationship: Reports to a Manager and does not have direct reports. 

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: High school studies. Undergraduate studies desirable. Participation in technical coursework such as LOMA, CLU, ChFC desirable. 

License/Certification/Designation: NASD series 6 and/or 26 licenses preferred and may be required based on assigned product/line-of-business or distribution system.

Associates must acquire the required federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit. Additional licenses/registrations may be required when new products and services are implemented. If an associate fails to acquire required licenses/registrations within the designated time period, the associate will be ineligible to continue in the position. NOTE: A credit check may be required if a license is required for this position.

Experience: One year of work experience with product-related customer service work experience preferred. Work experience with undergraduate studies preferred.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Knowledge of general office practices, customer service and office equipment. Understanding of information systems and insurance/financial services industry practices (e.g., annuities, mutual funds) preferred. Basic mathematics, familiarity with office filing systems and record keeping procedures and problem-solving techniques. Ability to prioritize own work within standards. Effective written and verbal communication skills to interact with others. Strong decision-making skills necessary for customer contacts. Ability to identify and evaluate problems and analyze customer inquiries and determine the appropriate action. Proven ability to operate a CRT and personal computer.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resources Business Partner.

Overtime Eligibility: Eligible (Non-Exempt)

Working Conditions: Call center environment. Extended periods of time sitting in front of a computer and taking phone calls.
