Job Description:

Role Purpose:

​​As part of the Business Services Team, this role is responsible for managing finance-related activities for our operations in Singapore, while also providing partial support to the operations in Malaysia.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented accountant to support day-to-day finance functions, ensure compliance with internal and external standards, and contribute to overall performance analysis.

Reporting directly to the Manager, Business Services, you will provide essential insights and financial documentation to support the Director of Operations Cluster and Director of Commercial Cluster in driving company performance in Malaysia.

Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger Management: Prepare accounting records, validate cost allocations, reconcile transactions, and resolve discrepancies to ensure accuracy and compliance. Prepare financial statements, including balance sheet, profit and loss, and cash flow statements, ensuring all supporting documentation is complete and properly maintained.

  • Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation of financial reports in accordance with IFRS, Sibelco Group reporting standards, and local statutory requirements (including financial statements, tax reports, and transfer pricing documentation). Analyze and summarize financial data to provide clear insights and support informed decision-making.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage budgets and forecasts for the cluster. Monitor performance against budget, analyze variances, and provide actionable explanations and recommendations.

  • Tax Compliance: Ensure full compliance with local tax regulations and reporting requirements, including accurate and timely submission of all tax filings.

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field; professional accounting certification preferred (e.g., CPA, ACCA)

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance

  • Strong skills in financial data consolidation with high proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Strong business acumen and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines

  • Experience with SAP CO and Power BI is a strong advantage
