About the Role

Paystand is seeking a commercially disciplined Renewals Manager to drive strong renewal outcomes across a dynamic subset of our customer base. This role is accountable for maximizing Gross Dollar Retention (GDR) by owning renewal strategy and execution for customers requiring active commercial engagement.

The Renewals Manager plays a critical role in Paystand’s growth strategy by ensuring renewals are executed on time, on appropriate terms, and in alignment with pricing and contract policies, while exercising sound judgment to retain revenue and reduce churn.

What You Will Own
  • Own renewal strategy and execution for a dynamic book of business
  • Maximize Gross Dollar Retention through disciplined pricing application and contract optimization
  • Lead customer conversations related to renewal pricing, contract terms, and renewal structure
  • Apply pricing, discount, and contract policies consistently while evaluating tradeoffs to secure retention
  • Structure and execute contract modifications, where appropriate, to improve renewal outcomes
  • Drive migration from legacy agreements to current terms and conditions
  • Partner cross-functionally with Customer Success, Customer Growth, Finance, Legal, RevOps, and Operations to ensure effective and compliant renewals
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, documentation, and reporting related to renewal activity
How You’ll Operate
  • Operate with a revenue and retention-first mindset
  • Leverage customer data, historical context, and defined commercial guidelines to inform renewal decisions
  • Communicate renewal terms and contract changes clearly and professionally
  • Manage multiple renewal workstreams with varying levels of complexity and urgency
  • Escalate non-standard requests thoughtfully and with clear business rationale
What We’re Looking For
  • 3+ years of experience in renewals, contract management, customer success, or a related commercial SaaS role
  • Proven experience leading renewal discussions and navigating customer objections
  • Strong analytical skills and sound commercial judgment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and operational rigor
  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
