JOB DESCRIPTION
What does a Solution Architect do at Green Dot?
You will be responsible for defining, designing, and documenting Green Dot’s banking platform capabilities in partnership with our business partners, product owners, and technical SME’s. You will be responsible for assessing our vendor & partners technical offerings and integration requirements and bring these integrations to life through the evaluation and design phases and supporting the engineering team through the implementation phases. You will also provide technical leadership, mentoring and problem solving/risk mitigation to the engineering teams aligned with delivering solutions for the business domains.
You will join our Tailfin Product Development team and will be our principal solution architect for this team and manage all facets of Green Dot’s endeavors for expansion of services as part of the Tailfin Joint Venture.
As a Solution Architect, you can look forward to:
Support for Product and Sales teams

Act as a Subject Matter Expert to our Product and Business Development teams versed on our Platform capabilities and multiple technology stacks in support of the Tailfin Joint Venture.

Analyze complex financial products and integrations and propose a range of meaningful recommendations and customer-centric technical solutions

Support business development teams to scope, design and plan work needed to integrate new and existing partners including speaking/meeting with prospective clients.
Solution Design & Delivery

Responsible for combining information from business, internal functions and technology through ideation, design, and implementation to solve business requirements and problems

Project and solution effort estimation and team structure definition

Ensure implemented applications, technologies and services fit for the intended purpose

Create, coordinate, and maintain High Level Design and LLD Low Level Design, and own E2E process flows. Manage technical design and planning process with relevant technical SMEs

Support the SW Engineering teams through guidance, research and removing blockers

Mentor and provide architectural guidance to multiple teams building innovative applications.

Engage with business stakeholders to understand required capabilities, integrating business knowledge with technical solutions.

Engage with Technical Architects and technical staff to determine the most appropriate technical strategy and designs to meet business needs.

Required:

Minimum 10 years of total technology experience, preferably in software development

Minimum 5 years of Solution Architecture / Technical Product Management Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in FinTech, Financial Products and Payment Processing
- Leadership skills; experience providing mentoring and support to SW Engineers

Excellent analytical skills, ability to understand complex business issues and translate to solutions based on both quantitative and qualitative analysis

Proven ability to Partner with Product, Engineering, Program Management, Operations and other stakeholders to effective design the solution, and support the technical effort estimation and timeline activities.

Proven ability to Partner with Product, Engineering, Program Management, Operations and other stakeholders to successfully launch and maintain complex products

Hands on experience and ability to develop and maintain end to end solution process flows at both high and detailed levels

Proven ability to understand what the technology needs to do and zero in on and mitigate risks that may inhibit the technology delivering what the business needs.

Experience implementing event- or message-driven distributed architectures

Experience planning and shipping complex software releases in an agile software development lifecycle

Excellent communication skills in verbal, written, and presentation settings with a range of audiences both business and technical, individual contributor and leadership

PAY RANGE
The targeted base salary for this position is $147,500 to $225,400 per year. The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate’s geographical location.
