Role: Reliability Engineer

Job Summary: To provide precise and prioritized reliability engineering services to work in a safe and productive manner, minimizing production losses and maintenance cost per unit, while supporting, promoting and demonstrating IKO’s core values and leadership behaviors.

Compensation: $85k to $90k

Job Responsibilities 

  • Lead training sessions on Maximo-integrated Maintenance Management System (MMS), 5-Why Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Troubleshooting to sustain Mechanical, Electrical, and Process FMECA/RCM programs aimed at reducing high-value production losses.

  • Participate in corporate reliability meetings, training, webinars, and SMRP events to stay current on reliability knowledge, tools, and methodologies.

  • Lead corporate surveys, questionnaires, and benchmarking initiatives as part of IKO’s Reliability Assessments and continuous improvement strategy.

  • Analyze Prodac/Maximo interface data on production loss and maintenance cost to identify high-value targets for RCA, FMECA, and RCM efforts with the greatest return.

  • Perform detailed Pareto analyses of downtime, rate reduction, and waste to identify critical assets for reliability improvement and optimize shutdown PMs and spare parts strategies.

  • Champion and mature a self-sufficient Condition Monitoring program—starting with Ultrasonic Precision Lubrication and expanding to ultrasonic and vibration technologies—to reduce production losses and wear part spending.

  • Troubleshoot and design for reliability, oversee contractors for precision installation and commissioning, and monitor equipment modifications, upgrades, and critical parts.

  • Provide support and training to plant Maximo users, ensuring adherence to Maximo best practices and updating numerical criticality rankings per IKO FMECA standards.

  • Standardize PM and PdM task formats to align with FMECA failure modes, emphasizing condition-based inspections and efficient resource planning in Maximo.

  • Collaborate with other plants to develop, network, and optimize PM/PdM programs that enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and total life cycle cost while prioritizing work orders based on production loss Pareto analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of University degree in Engineering (preferably in Mechanical Engineering)

  • 3 or more years of reliability experience in continuous process manufacturing environments.

  • Familiar with condition monitoring tools such as: vibration analysis, Ultrasonic, lubrication, thermography, etc..

  • Experience facilitating dozens of successful RCFA’s.

  • Experience with: FMECA’s, PM recommendations associated with preventing most probable Failure Modes, Production loss analysis, failure mitigation strategies, Spare Parts optimization supporting the PM tasks, etc.

  • Verbal and written fluency in English, effective presentation skills and ability to communicate well at all levels.

  • Proficiency with building standardized PM’s & PdM’s within Maximo or similar CMMS, MS Office, AutoCAD, etc.

  • Willing to travel on occasion to learn and share knowledge with other IKO sites.

  • Analytical skills with high level of accuracy and strong work ethics.

  • Operational and supervisory experience is a plus.
