The Role
Job Description SummaryThe Maintenance Reliability Engineer is responsible for creating, reviewing, and managing assets, work orders, job plans, preventive maintenance (PM) tasks, and schedules within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Accurately document all work orders to ensure proper tracking and compliance.
  • Plan, schedule, forecast, and optimize maintenance activities to balance operational needs and resource availability.
  • Ensure the availability of parts and materials required for scheduled work orders, minimizing delays and downtime.
  • Collaborate with customers to align maintenance activities with operational schedules and priorities.
  • Review manufacturing manuals, technical drawings, and documents, and work closely with shop floor technicians and engineers to develop detailed job plans for equipment maintenance.
  • Create and manage assets, ensuring accurate records and effective asset utilization.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by prioritizing tasks based on customer and maintenance supervisor inputs.
  • Continuously improve job plans, preventive maintenance (PM) processes, and overall maintenance planning and scheduling strategies.
  • Provide coaching and training to the maintenance team on system functionality and execution to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor, ensuring accessibility and support for all employees.
  • Foster a positive and respectful work environment, promoting collaboration and teamwork across all levels of the organization.
  • Communicate organizational achievements, team successes, and challenges to leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve problems and deliver solutions that meet customer expectations.

Qualifications/Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in maintenance, manufacturing, engineering or operations)
  • 3 years of maintenance, manufacturing, operations, engineering or operations

Desired Characteristics

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and verbally
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Experience working in a unionized work environment
  • Experience working with Maximo or other CMMS
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong conflict management skills
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities
